I'm sure they haven't even remotely got round to that kinda thing, it's only in an earlish state of development, or at least it would seem so given the way it was written about in the blog. I'm sure that stuff like that would be ironed out, if the wood floated and the stone sank that'd be cool though, although gameplay wise maybe not.

I’d like to put this myth about plate armor making you sink to rest. The myth that plate armor over encumbers you comes from video games and movies. I engage in historical swordsmanship, and several of my friends wear full plate armor. You can jump, roll, vault onto horses, and stay afloat in deep water. So there, my attack fleet of floating knights shall not be restricted in any way or I shall complain about historical inaccuracy! D<

It's not gonna be like it is in that test build is it? You wouldn't be able to mine or do fuck all below 5 tiles on most maps, I imagine it'll be placed in certain areas of maps and you interact with it from there.

Maybe someday they'll add water assistance devices, like air tanks or something. Placing it in only certain areas will always have problems unless there's actual dynamic water.

It's not very dynamic that's all, you can dig down quite far most places on earth without hitting water and it just seems like it's gonna get in the way a bit, I personally think it'd be better if there big lakes and whatever, but also pockets of underground water spread about, it'd make making wells cooler too cos you'd have to find water first. I imagine doing things that way will be alot harder but I think it'd be alot better then having a worms style system of water, plus it'd be cool when your mining or whatever to suddenly fall down into an underwater lake or whatever and get trapped till you mine your way out and shit like that, if there's 1 continuous level of water utilising it for traps and stuff like that will be less feasible too. The concept is cool don't get me wrong, just if it had a bit more depth to it (I appreciate it'd take alot more coding to do it like that) then it'd have alot more possibilities in game.
