//moved to the ART section because you aren't suggesting something for KAG and it seems that you are just making pixel art.

I have been working on a page of hopefully 50+ new KAG classes for fun, by rearranging the pixels from KAG heads and the upcoming new classes to create a picture of a new KAG class/person. If anyone has any UNIQUE ideas for a class on the page (be specific on clothing and gear) please reply. Keep in mind that it would be easier for me to pick existing gear and items in KAG as oppose to something like a gun. When I am finished I will post the page. Here are some examples:

Picture attachments sometimes get broken on moving posts. I blame Kouji-san.

Hmm, keep working on those. What program did you use?

Did you make your avatar? It looks cool.

Make me laugh, he talked about the topic and after, he asked that. You are just a big [link] who try to seem serious with the rules.

Also, sprites you make are pretty awesome. Just the last one seem a bit strange, too much skinny I think.

However, he can ask these kind of questions in his Profile Page or in a PM.

Chu_bacca, They are nice but I think that the hats we have right now are allright so far, and If you use it... the players will not see it like it is, they will see it as the hat that was before standing there.
    Good idea anyway.

P.S. I bet they will put these hats in the hat section when the different Knight and Builder classes are out.

Splicing is something every beginner should do; don't listen to those who tell you you should always work from scratch. However splicing shouldn't be the beginning and end of your efforts as if that's all you're doing you aren't really creating anything.

Drop your lasso and pick up the pencil. Try to repair whenever possible, add a few pixels and zoom out and see if it looks better. Manually recolour some parts, it'll give you a good feel for shading. Eventually move up to small edits of your own, shoulder pads and hats and even just little shape changes to armour.

Sure it's just for fun whatever, but I sincerely think that lassoing limbs and awkwardly pasting them onto other guys isn't worth your time.

For zooming out/in, get GraphicsGale and you will save a lot of time. You can use photoshop or gimp or paint.net for now, but if see yourself liking it look for something like this, it's made for spriting (It's Japanese might be something to hold you back), buying it is impossible despite the website saying so, as they don't even host the software anymore, I'm not sure they even receive the money, you have to get it through 'other means' for the full version but the lite version itself is still awesome.

I was going to write more but don't' want to parrot what Contrary said.

Thanks, this is my first attempt at pixel-anything, so what program should I use? (I am using paint, probably not the best idea)

And yes I did my make my avatar, because I am definitely going to be a ninja :)

Paint.net for starters, if you really like it you can go 'find' graphicsgale (As in torrent, since you can no longer buy it).

I'll be blunt. It's bad. You're lucky, bad is the best possible result at this stage. Having your first thing somehow ending up good is a curse, the rest of your first things will definitely be bad and it's really demotivating to not be able to do as well as your first try.

    Criticism:

    1. You've mixed pixel sizes. Most of it is in 2x2 pixels, but there are a few 1v1 blocks floating around and that makes it look really bad. Start in 1x1 then resize it only right when you're ready to show people.

    2. Inconsistent palette. Full black is not in KAG palette and it contributes to the "this is not right" feeling. Try pasting it into a KAG screenshot, you'll see how awkward it looks.

    3. Broken outline: Try to keep the outline consistent, it's randomly broken under the left arm and there's all this colourful noise that doesn't mean anything.

    4. Perspective. The way you have his shoulders equal suggest he's facing towards the viewer. This is wrong and contradicts other parts of the piece. Keep perspective in mind, stuff on his left is farther away and should be partly obscured by his body.

    5. Background. Not a criticism of the piece itself but a general tip. Never work in white background it messes up your sense of colour. Use a darkish neutral tone, like what Geti was working on.

    My humble edit:

Thanks a lot for your advice I've been working on two new ones keeping what you said in mind, the first one, meh, but the second I will make sure to keep the pixel size consistent. Is there any way to change the size of the pencil in paint.net?

Uh I don't really recommend working with 2x2 pixels. It's much easier to work at 1x and resize later. If you find it's too small use the magnifying class to zoom in.

ALso it's good to see you're keeping at it. ;) Can't wait to see your next pieces.

Again, first one a little careless and non-KAGish but still pretty sick, the second, I played it safe and simple. But I still need good ideas on what to do next bandit.png :)
