    It does!

I'm just happy it didn't inherit the roguelike thing of having outright malicious items. It's hard enough as it is!

@Wonkyth I'm totally down for some Wesnoth action. Just get FBB to ring me up, any time.

@Sani: I cry everytime I fail to save damsel ;_; I hope I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I'll post a few good ones I know, might include a few mods I thought were worth mentioning.
2/3 of them are free and mods.

Pirates Vikings and Knights 2. (free mod with the source engine, you just need a game using the source engine like TF2 or HL2, does this kinda make it a separate game?)
This total conversion features 3 teams, which obviously are the pirates(2 classes) vikings(3 clases) and knights (2 classes).
Just saying its a good game won't convince so check out the video:

    NMRIH.(once again, source engine)
A zombie game which features, well zombies.
Unlike Left4Dead or most other zombie games out there, guns are rare and ammo is rarer.
Most of the time you will end up trying to beat them to death with flashlights and bats or be running away from hordes of them.

    Fortune Summoners.(JRPG?)
This is an indie action RPG which features a huge 2D world (which sadly doesn't give you sidequests), the bosses in this game are nice.
The story isn't exactly my favorite part, but then again the combat system makes up for it.

The English version doesn't feature voice acting, but that is just something minor I guess.

Thank God. Does it cost money? I assume the two source mods are free.

    Yeah, 14,99$ it seems.
The 2 source mods are free.

To answer your question, Sourcemod games are separate games. They just use resources from HL2, which pretty much all source games use.

I mean they could save us the trouble of downloading one of those games by making the resource files available, I don't see why they don't do that.

When downloading no more room in hell it automatically installes Source SD 2007 library or something, which I think saves you from the effort of having to install TF2.(can someone confirm?)
But at PVK2 you still need a source game.

    DISSENTING OPINION ALERT;

If you've played any FPS in the past decade there's no need to bother with Half Life. It was considered brilliant at the time because it broke the mold of Doomlikes (instead initiating a wave of Half Life Likes, that have yet to end). It's a very mediocre game on it's own, albeit with pretty good design, taken outside of the context of the games at the time and the cult that's built around it.

A corridor runner with some puzzling and a story is nothing exceptional now.

There's plenty of better FPS's out there that also go against the established, beaten to death tropes, and do their own thing, but they're not... simplistic enough? Not sure on the word... to garner the attention of the reddit and facebook browsing horde, like STALKER, or even F.E.A.R. That's not to say these aren't popular enough in their own right (STALKER's following is delightfully cult like, especially inside Russia), but they're nothing on the obsession with Half Life many have.

    Oh, Indeed! :P
I was, in fact, referring to Half-Life 2, which is indeed something special to this day! :D
I was suggesting that if you intend to play a source-mod game when you don't even have HL2 you have your priorities wrong. ^_^

    Okay, here's some gooduns.

    Streambolt Desero

Wicked fun run and gun game in the vein of Gunstar Heroes. Fucking love it. Tons of action with kindasorta cutesy graphics.

    Valdis Story

Pretty rad little sidescrolling platformer, with much of the focus on combat. A lot like the newer Castlevania games.

    Star Guard

Really, does anything else about Star Guard need to be said? It's fucking STAR GUARD. If you haven't played it yet, DO IT YOU FOOL.

Okay i have to bring in Smokin Guns here.
It's a western type kind of game based on the quake3 engine, it was nominated for some ModDB prize or stuff as well, anyways, the lack of players is a real problem nowadays, and i'm trying to attract new peeps to the game, would be nice to see some of you there ;-)
Oh BTW, the Bacons played it too waaaaay before the played KAG or now Tribes ;-)

Starbound is looking good, but it's not out yet. My favorites?

    KAG - (Durr Hurr)
    Terraria - (Yep, Terraria)
Minecraft - (I don't think there's an internet geek pro alive who hasn't heard of this)
Grecca - (Very small playerbase, it's like Haven and Hearth)
Haven and Hearth - (Don't play it anymore, for reasons I shall not speak of, but it was a long-time favorite)
