So I saw the Gametrailers review of the xbox live version of Spelunky.... I dont like the HD graphics that much compared to the free pc version and its pixelated glory.

But damn it all, that co-op mode look so tempting!

    >Unable to hook xbox to internets, no xbox live for me.. :(

Hey, it's not my fault the new Spelunky isn't getting a PC port 'til next year! :(
You would not believe how much I've been telling Derek to get his arse on it. >:(

  6. I have to say Spelunky, even though I've not gotten past world 3.

I also am an avid Dwarf Fortress player, as many of you know.

Cave Story is fantastic. (I can beat the FINAL final boss in ~2 minutes).

Is Toribash indie? I don't know much about it.

Don't know if we can consider Mount&Blade Warband as being indie anymore, but the original M&B started as a couple's project (man and wife), now it's huge but...yeah it's actually a game that I spend hundreds of hours upon another "tons-or-so" hours playing, single and multiplayer, vanilla and modded versions. Mount&Blade series is, even with all the love of its followers, very underated or unnoticed by gamers and game companies.

I have a new favorite among my games: Elona
Though it looks lame on the cover, once I'm fairly well off there's nothing as awe-inspiring as a nuke-chucking adamantinium-machine-gun-wielding Tyrannosaurus-Rex-riding harbinger of death and destruction.
The aforementioned harbinger also owns several ranches that exclusively breed small girls for the purpose of selling into slavery for money and goodies. :)

I just tried it right now and from the name I should have figured that it is a rouge-like game. Died at level 5 when I just found out I had weapons in my inventory. :D

    Pretty fun~

What is this "ease-of-entry" crap? :D
Having played every roguelike (including many 'supposed' roguelikes) under the sun, I still cant get over them! :)

Also: GUESS WHAT I FINALLY BOUGHT THE OTHER DAY?! :D:D:D:D

Oh wow, those are quite the amount of games, which one would you recommend I buy first?

Unfortunately for me, I need a higher level of GUI. I tried getting into this with dwarf fortress ,but it just doesn't sit well in my soup.
Ok, there is a different set of GUI. My fault for posting before checking out the whole thing. And...click downloading~
since we here like rouge-likes, here is one that I am looking forward to it's release. I'll post a link as soon as the game is out.

  17. Tur1sta, did you try it with tiles instead of ascii?

I only ordered Exile 1-3 on CD, but they're all fantastic! :D
Don't think they run on anything newer than XP, but the demos are THE most extensive you'll ever see: literally half the damned game! (that's a LOT, like, HUGE)
But yeah, my recommended order of play:
    1. Exile 1: Escape from the Pit.
    2. Exile 2: Crystal Souls. (First one of their games I ever played, still my favourite to this day)
    3. Exile 3: Ruined World.
    4. Blades of Exile. (Designed for custom scenario creation, this one's a doozy! :D)
    5. Nethergate. (This one's interesting in that it's standalone! :D)
    6. Avernum 1. (Beginning of their recreation of the Exile world)
    7. Avernum 2.
    8. Avernum 3.
    9. Blades of Avernum.
    10. Geneforge 1. (Beginning of their unique science fantasy world)
    11. Geneforge 2.
    12. Geneforge 3.
    13. Avernum 4. (The Avernum series goes above and beyond the original Exile! ^_^)
    14. Geneforge 4.
    15. Avernum 5.
    16. Geneforge 5.
    17. Avernum 6.
    18. Avadon: The Black Fortress.
    19. Avernum: Escape from the Pit. (Again revisiting the world of Avernum/Exile 1, this shit is still hot 17 years later)

    Please enjoy! :D:D:D

Super Crate Box is a fantasticly simple indie game, created by Vlambeer. It focuses on collecting crates located around a 2D screen, while battling the enemies spawning from a hole cut out of the top of the screen. Upon collection each crate gives the player another weapon, making him drop the last one. There are different levels and after time the player will unlock new weapons to annihilate the ... things, intent on destroying him.

Though there aren't many weapons and only three types of enemies, the games difficulty increases along the path of gaining new levels, making it one of my favourite indie games I've ever played. I'd recommend it as an addictive time waster that doesn't require internet or skill.
