I got grasp of the basics ... but what should I do now?

  1. Well, Socializator. I'm playing Lots of RTDM (Rapid Team Deathmatch) servers. Luckily new players get a chance to play knight and usually more experienced players slash them to quick death. My idea would be that new players can't go jump into the game without finishing the tutorial. This feature is used for many games (MMORPG, MMO, RTS, etc..) and would work really well. I feel that the Tutorial should be recreated.

Also, most of the new players don't talk. Talk childish or swear me. If you want to learn archer class then just give me a word. ;)

Nooo you misunderstood what I meant Socializator. I meant that new players dgaf about other players in the sense that they're gonna do whatever the fuck they want, ignoring any and all criticism and direction given to them.

ouuu, but I still think that beside advice from other players there is no real infrastructure in the game to help newbies learn the game (talking about builder mostly now). And advice is problematic anyway- I find it almost impossible to both play and follow chat screen. And most of the advice I recieved was more like "dont touch it", "dont do that" - didnt recieve a single "do" - which I think is ok since it was in the match. I have no doubt that there probably are people willing to help, but they will always be outnumbered by those who wants to play the game and dont want to talk more than neccessary.
For me personally the problem doesnt lie in players that much. It is rather in mixing those player groups (noobs, newbs, regulars, competetive) all together. Also I am a little bit suspicious, that the most reasonable players are being sucked into gold servers :)

Unfortunately though, and this applies to even people like me that really try to be patient, if you see someone not doing something properly as a builder - no-one really care if you don't play archer or knight properly, at least anywhere near as much cos bad buildings fuck your team up much worse then a single bad knight or archer - then you'll tell them to stop, only problem is there's no easy way of explaining what to do in text, but you can easily tell them "fucking stop you retard that's stupid", well I might not go that far unless someone's been really persistent, but you get the point. But anyway, it's far too difficult to be told what to build in game, it's much easier to sit back and learn, during the build phase do simple things like building shops, more shops is always good and doesn't get in the way, then just pay as much attention as you can to the defences while your doing that.

There's really is no good way of learning builder other then experience, but you need to at least observe which structure work and don't and how to build them first. Just give it a couple of weeks of been archer and knight and only building shops and really simple stuff during build phase and try to be as observant as possible as what is easy and difficult to attack defences wise, and then have another crack at building your own.

If you ever see Strathos, Mr.Black, or Call_me_vich ingame, watch them, they are excellent builders.

I think it would be cool if more good players put out videos of them playing. In stuff like Starcraft and Soul Calibur watching pros made me learn far faster than actually playing when I first started out.

Practice. The most important thing you can do. Builder is about the surrounding area and how to make the most of it. Archer is about angles and arrow patterns. Knight is about timing and correct sword-play. However, theres much more to the game than these things here. We could write messages all day about different ideas about what makes KAG tick. It comes down to the players and their actions that determine what happens. A side note to this would be the fact that when you get good at the game to have respect. Don't put yourself up higher than these other people in this thread. They talk about the same players over and over. Have some class when using yours and win.

I say the best idea after learning the basics is learn the regulars that you notice playing at the same time as you, eventually you become partners in crime/ battle brothers... or a sworn nemesis. Past that stage, just notice on your team who are the enablers in each class, the archers who are racking up kills, the knights who bomb/bomb-jump successfully and the builders who make structures really useful in either defense or aggression. A lot of the experience from this stage onward will be from observation and experimentation :D

on attacking as builder (as in,using enemies bases to
    your advantage).
