Great game, but terrible multiplayer system

I'm new, and I haven't been harassed by anyone so far. I've only been in, like, 4 or 5 games, but I guess I'm naturally good at games for some reason, so I guess I'm kinda disqualified (I was beating teenagers and stuff when I was 3-4, pwning before pwning was considered pwning).

 

20 posts later... and still no mention of the manual or wiki.

Obviously not when he's on the forums whining about this game being bad at teaching a new player how to play.

Anyone who can find the forums should be able to find those as well. They're worth checking out, but I don't think they really help in this situation.

 

Major problem here is arrogance. You can't expect everyone to be "noob friendly" when you're the guy who's building shit that's gonna harm your team and not take any direction. I can say that 9 times out of 10, I'll encounter a new guy doing something stupid, and when I try to give them some advice I always get, "lol shut up nub" or "fuk off i bild wat i whant."

 

or how about when you try an fix a Noob structure, and they yell "OH MY ZOG, GRIEFER"

 

That is so true. I have only met a few people who took my advice and the rest just used the finger sign when I corrected them. And when they say "i bild wat i whant" I say, "Go play sandbox and build all the buildings you want, this is a team game, team buildings." That shuts them up.

 

That is true. I remember when I first started out and really wanted to get into building, so I built. I checked out the Wiki, tutorials, tips, tricks and practiced some, but nothing prepares you for building in multiplayer, it's a completely different ball game. I was messing everything up, but luckily I had a few team mates who were kind enough to point out where I was going wrong and what I should be doing. Fast forward to today and I attempt to do the same to others. But like you say, it depends on the new player, whether they're an idiot, or a decent human being who likes to learn.

 

Precisely. I've said it before, and I've said it a thousand times, but I have no beef with guys who are eager to learn and who at least try, as opposed to just joining a server, building a 1 wide skydick to heaven, and then calling everyone else noobs when given any kind of criticism. New guys like you are cool in my book, Rich.
