You can play Playstation 1 games on PS Vita. It can also be used like a controller or playing some PS3 games on the Vita.

Sure thing, PS Vita is way more superior than the 3DS but if you like Mario's games, I can't say something.
Graphics, battery, the 'touchpad' on both side, 2 joysticks. The best thing, Playstation don't have a new console every year like Nintendo. Nintendo is crazy with every fucking model, DS, DSi, XL, 3DS, why they can't make at first one console with all of this?

    Except Playstation is crazy expensive..
PS3 came out at $800 if i'm right.
PS vita came out at $299 and you need to spend at least $60 for a good memory stick, and then another 60+ for a game
PS vita can't play PSP games~

A top model DS can play every DS game out there with in region lock.
Even the the earliest DS s (normal DS and DSi can even play GBA games).
New DS games are usually 75% of the cost of PS games, starting at $45 more or less.

on the in game shop you can download older games including gba, nes and others...
equivalent to playing ps1 games for download

sure if you have lots of money then it should be fine to spend on Ps vita but ill just play my cheap 3ds

I really don't favour systems over each other, not any longer. I used to be a massive Nintendo fanboy but that was just silly. It was just a matter finding more faults about other systems than what people could find about yours.

It all depends on what I want to play at a certain time, price be damned. I am not going to force myself to buy Super Mario games just because they are cheaper. If I want to play some first person shooters, then I am very well going to spend some extra cash in order to get what I want, whether I can do it at once, and live on noodles for the next months, or save some for a future purchase. No stress, it is all good.

    The vita has
Pretty sure it can, just not UMDs meaning the player will probably have to download/rebuy his favorite games again on PSN. Which is another major fuck up by Sony.
