i added some effects, speed change, and some more sounds in.
(also i didnt actully like, remix it, but instead i took the samples, remade them, and made a song)

since you've given some good advice here, I'd like to see what you think of this song I'm producing with a friend:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/f5689v687ap3tvy/ArchNexus_2.mp3

It's a fairly complex piece in places, and I'm worried it'll be a bit confusing. I've heard it at least 200 times now so I can't really tell for myself anymore.

ps: its not mastered or anything, so dont be too harsh about the quality pls.

Lol thank you. I'll try and give you my impressions, although I wish I were a little more savvy on the production speak. At the same time, I'll try to sound less like i'm on an acid trip with AV hallucinations.

The beginning scale of keys is a middle-eastern 8-bit magic carpet mystery, which sets up the tone for the track. The rate of the track speeds up ever so slowly in tempo (personally, I'm not a big fan of speeding/slowing progressively over that long period of time).

0:26 I really enjoy. Its what I like to call "when the song actually begins" because that when you get the listener hooked in: the clash of the symbol, the final tempo determined, the 8-bit disappears, the clavichord wakens the listener to reality. I like the [uh-uh-uh-uh] on the last 1/8 of each measure, and how it transposes between half steps. The drum step kit, which sounds great, is THE standard for D&B/drumstep. The anticipation starting at 0:47 is exciting. Very drum and bass. The 8-bit coin sound jumps in. Normally I'm not a fan of 8-bit music, but I actually enjoyed that you returned to the theme.

1:17 lazer combo + fader. The early return was nice, I was not expecting that. Bravo. And then of course, you gotta have the double timing on the double quarter note, double 8th note, quadruple 16th note deal with the kick drum.

Real potential here. The wobble bass could use a little tweaking for better quality, but the sequencing and patterns sound great. You are spot on when you said its fairly complex. What were you afraid of being confusing? The skeleton was of drum step for sure, everything was interesting and made sense to me.

One thing, I could go without the 8-bit bass at the end of each wobble bass run. Personal preference.

Side note: are you IceDragon or Rayronaz?

Thanks, now I know what I should do.

Was a bit worried that the drop would be confusing with so many things going on, but I guess that was a non-issue.

I added a double time part to the drop, and fixed up some sounds/ patterns. Not really sure how I feel on the double time, so i leave it here for you to judge:

Also, I'm using ~3 inch speakers to do this, so bass probably won't be done until i can use my friend's system.

    Ps: I'm rayronaz

I'll listen to it tomorrow when I'm done with this final. Glad I could help

Oh wait. When I was talkling about the double timing with the double quarter, double 8th, and quadruple 16th kick drum on your previous upload, I was just confirming what you already had done at 1:17 and 2:11. The double time you have at 1:40-2:03, you're right, I don't know how I feel about this either. It kind of over exhausts the track in terms of speed. What you had on the previous track worked fine.

I hope that wasn't too confusing.

No, i know what you were talking about, but I needed to make the second half of the drop be something other than a repeat of the previous 16 bars. I'm not a fan of repeat.

EDIT: here's a screen of my project at 0:42

another update, changed the last 16bars of drop a bit, slowed drums back down.

added another section which was essentially copypasta, but i changed a few things after that.

  9. Here is a piece of music which has been set in a dubstep form. It doesn't jump into this until around half way through.

If you can make a piece of dubstep music like this or Rayne's i will love you for Eva.

Hey, it sounds a lot better than your other ones :P
Just wondering, did this song use any samples? Or is it completely original?

    ok,
the song is completely original, other than the voices, which where taken from the movie.
its legal because i use less than 5% of the movie.

it sounds like you literally pasted a loop over that song at 1:28, and not to mention the sound quality is too high for someone who is "new".
