Spocean is a team-based, galleon-crewing multiplayer game for PC. Features include: - 18th century style naval warfare from afirst person, crew perspective. - Team-based multiplayer gameplay. - Seamless combination of fleet tactics with ship management and boarding combat. - Immersive "woodpunk" setting. Spocean provides a refreshing new kind of multiplayer gameplay: Teams choose and board their chosen fleet of ships at the start of a match, maneuver and pummel enemy with cannon shot , and board when they have the advantage. The first team to control all of the ships wins!​

Arcrave, Yagger, Jackitch, Radpipe and I were playing a couple rounds last night, it was truly awesome to play. Sure the servers have a low population count (if any :(), but once players start getting on it and the ships starting filling up, the massive array of cannon fire and and ship wreckage is an amazing sight to see. Not to mention the novelty of boarding enemy players' ships and boxing the ever living crap out of enemy gnomes, while your ships pummels their boarded ship with cannon barrages.​

Seems quite interesting. How are ships maneuvered though?

 

I played this last november! My first multiplayer game :) then after the failed kickstarter nobody played, so they took the servers down

Ships were maneuvered by walking over to the ships wheel, then pressing e, then using the arrow keys. Your view as driver was like a map type aerial view.

Just went to the Spocean home page. I'm glad to see this game getting back on it's feet. It seemed like it wasn't going anywhere after the failed kickstarter. See you on the spacey seas!

Well that was depressing. It is no longer supported for Mac:(

 

Yeah they got only one dedicated server up, they are waiting to see if it even fills up.

 

Boxpipe & Arcrave vs a random & me didn't end nicely. (for them)

 

Looks like I'm going to have to learn wineskin so I can join the fun.

That's late news. The guy on twitter was one of the random names with us. Had 6 v 6.

Wineskin isnt hard, else just use bootcamp.
I once had a mac but its gone since 9 months or so, i cant help you with wineskin, i forget things i will rarely need quick ;)

Trying it out soon.

 

I got it figured out for the most part Ranged. The only thing is, I have to force quit the application as opposed to just exiting it.

but there is no-one on the servers, its even more dead then Sub Rosa!

 

It's dead as dirt most of the time. Us fans of Spocean should organize a time to play it.

Does anybody know a general time that the servers are populated? Just checked the website and the devs said last weekend there were some 6v6 battles going on.

 

Pretty sure Boxpipe and us were the ones causing the 6 v 6's, otherwise it's pretty dead.

I had no problems connecting to the B15 spocean server.
