    Well, after building a team here (UU tier, cause that's what everyone plays): http://play.pokemonshowdown.com/ you should just join IRC. Just ask for a challenge if you see us on. Most of us playing already have at least 1 team for using.

    A tourney would be cool, but I expect it'll just end up going something like this (considering how we usually play):
    1. Contrary wins
    2. Kouji beats Ej cause hax and rng hates him
    3. Ej gets third
    4. Someone else
    5. Someone else
    6. Someone else
    7. Someone else
    8. Last Place goes to someone else
    9. no one
    10. Mazey
    Only real way to make it fair would be to have everyone create new teams, not show them off to everyone, so testing would have to be done solo so no counter building, and just have every use either one team, or have every build at least 2 teams.
