Howdy. I'm looking for a free co-op game of any type. I'm bored with my friend, so I need one.

    Notes:

    We play on separate computers.
    I have low-spec PC.

You might be able to play the Sven Co-op mod for Half-Life 1, even with your low specs.
It forces you to use OpenGL and if your computer isn't good at handling dynamic lights then some maps will be hard to play/unplayable.
edit: Well, this is technically free if you have Half-Life already.

Pretty sure Mari0 supports up to 4 player coop now. Basically the platformer Super Mario Bros with portal guns. There are a few portal inspired maps in it aside from the main game if I remember correctly.

If you're willing to setup netplay there are loads of coop games for the SNES like Super Bomberman, Pocky and Rocky, Turtles in Time or Smash T.V.

It'd help if you posted your specs.

Not a co-op game exactly, but I suggest Sub Rosa if their are decent players in game.

Wouldn't hurt to try, its not like you're using 10gb of bandwidth to test it.

There are always RTS games you can play against an AI.
Starcraft: Brood War, Age of Empires 1/2, Red Alert 2 and Empire Earth come to mind instantly.

You're pretty limited when it comes to free CoOp games for low spec computers. Only thing I can think of is emulators and maybe Alien Swarm.
