Currently knights can fall from literally off the top of the map all the way to the bottom without taking ANY fall damage as long as they shield glide.
I've already seen a knight use bombs to launch himself into our base this way and there is literally NO WAY TO STOP HIM since towers can't go that high.

When knights are moving over a certain speed they shouldn't be able to shield glide anymore and should take full damage from falling, just like the old system.

If you can't stop a single knight when he's alone in your territory, surrounded by your teammates, having to navigate through your structures...

Well I think you guys have bigger problems than shield gliding.

There are so many huge balance issues in this game yet time and again, people pick on bomb jumping. Bomb jumping is just a means of transportation- blaming bomb jump for wrecking you is like blaming spoons for making you fat.

I do actually agree that shield gliding reduces fall damage to zero. Forget bomb jumping for a second, no other class can leap off a 400 block tower and live to tell about it, let alone without a scratch, except the knight. Reduced fall damage, sure. But none at all? It's so ridiculous and I play knight all the time.

That's beside the point, I have no problem with bomb jumping, but when you can fly so far up you're off the map and then land unharmed something is wrong.

One major problem is that if you aim your cursor just right, you can block arrows coming at you from the right or left while also gliding which should require to have your cursor above you.

Thats one problem that could really help fix the problem with shield gliding. Setting a speed limit does nothing to help the problem.

This matter could've just been brought up in the Nerf Knights thread.
Another thing worth mentioning is you can shoot bumb jumping knights out of the sky with water arrows. :B):

I don't see how you could hit a flying knight with anything other than a direct hit.

The priming time is what I was refering to. By the time you have activated the bomb, aimed, and so on, he will already be over your head.

Not if he's coming from the top of the map

Either there's an error of communication or Duplolas is dumb. (I'm aiming for the former.)

Water arrows will still knock knights out of the sky. (They have to hold their shield above them so you can still hit their entire body from below.)
Water bombs against airborne knights would probably not work anyway because you can't toss them very high, unless you hit them on the blast upwards. The priming time of 1 second is really quite trivial, it really only negates the double-spacebar spam nonsense currently going on.
