KAG Custom Maps and Modded Status

    Hi, I have a pretty simple question for anyone out there: If I were to add custom maps (i.e, ones I created) to a server, would the server be marked as modded by KAG? Specifically, would it be filtered out as being "Non-Vanilla"?

    Yes, it would. It's kinda silly that adding new maps to a server labels it as modded, never to be seen by a chunk of the steam community.

    Yeah, and the devs told me to post my maps to the resource section so server owners could use them... Nobody even cares about custom maps it seems... Don't really feel like making maps anymore.. )=

    That's true, I would love to add custom maps in my servers but I will never do it if that flags them as customs. The funny thing is that server is getting flagged even if you change rotation in default maps. I tried it and "file is different". It's stupid....

    Yeah, We just tried it as well and it placed it in the modded section... Wish the devs would do something about this. Sick of playing the same ol' maps. It's not like the maps we are trying to load up are really intricate, perplexing, or containing things that wouldn't normally be in a map :/

    Just something a little different. That's all.

    And if you ask what the problem with modded servers are...

    When players (mostly new ones do this) hit the auto-join/quick-join button, it places them into servers that are in BUILDING-TIME (in the start up countdown). This is a major part of how I get the servers started everyday.
    It's not as simple as server reputation, location or ping. Yeah people will join servers based on player count, but that's not always enough to keep a server going. Sometimes it will die down at the end or beginning of a match, and the only thing that keeps it going is players getting auto placed into the server as it's in BUILDING-TIME.

    So I beg you Devs.. Please please PLEEASE fix this?

    Maybe sneak it in in the next build or something? Hehe :rollseyes:

    this is wrong

    it will only label the server as modded if you EDIT THE DEFAULT MAP CYCLE

    make a new map cycle file and you should be golden.

    if this still doesnt work submit a bug report

    Oh well, doesn't matter because the next build will make modded servers much more visible to newer players
