LAG! game wide

    Well that is also an issue, but the main topic at hand was why all the servers were shitting themselves lately. It's getting very messy. I also sometimes randomly get a cata causing lag, and I have about as high end of a machine as you can get. It sure does amaze me how old bugs and issues make their way back into builds over time

    My modem's so bad it affects my monitor's refresh rate. People have been saying it's catas, and I have to agree that it is an item; I'm not getting 'latency' or 'lag', I am getting cpu-stealing, ram-eating, and fps-consuming client-side inefficiency.

    Game has issues lately, after latest update took the slots of my servers to 24 and still after some time in same map game lags. This should be fixed ASAP.

    Yeah it's getting to the point where I'm wondering if I'll keep hosting servers in the long run. It's been a few weeks of this unplayable lag and no official response or solutions or anything. It is obviously something that was changed in one of the last 3 builds because we never had this problem before that.

    I did a lot of server hopping and even the official servers are suffering badly from the warping tomato bomb lag. I miss being able to play KAG properly and bomb jump, and even use bombs, and my shield.
     
  5. It is apparently related to catapults, as far as I can tell.

    Lagapults have always been there; this is something server side killing everything.

    Yes it is not the catapults, I can restart the server and it'll run good for about an hour to two max and then the horrendous lag begins, whether or not there are catapults, no matter the game mode, no matter the player count. Official servers didn't seem to be as affected initially but now they are just as shit as everyone else's servers. It's unfortunate because it's killing the server populations and overall player count. I had two buddies turned off to the game because they bought it last week and can barely even play.

    Official response as has been posted around a few places, with some addendums:
    • The build everyone seems to pin this on had no actual changes, so we're having to look further back into what may have caused it before you all started noticing.
    • So far it's likely looking like it's the API stuff screwing up (people with "lagging" servers are reporting a spam of API putStatus calls failing/lagging due to an already full queue) - however any diagnostics from server hosts also experiencing the problems are welcome (logs and what resources are being overutilitsed (CPU, RAM?)
    • This will be our priority for the next release, but that's slated for ~2 weeks from now. We've got a lot more on our plates than just KAG at the moment, unfortunately. We understand this is super frustrating, but I'd rather be honest than optimistic.
    • The bug disconnecting all players from time to time has been found and will be patched in a hotfix today.
