Hi guys, I am completely new to this game, and just wanted to post out an already bad experience I had, not with the game or gameplay itself, but with the players. I'm posting this here because I don't really know where to put it sry. But I have a statement to do. So, because I'm a newbie, I started the game and went to the tutorials to do them all, in the last one, a the tutorial said that now that I know the basics, I should learn from watching other players online. The problem is, when I went online for a game, instead of helping me, the players almost instantly banned me because I apparantly spwaned a catapult or something in our base, I didn't know what I was doing :S I was experimenting, but they right away voted and banned me. I Wanted to ask you if I'm doing wrong to start already on online, should I start first with singleplayer? If yes, why did the game suggested me to go online and learn? If I'm supposed to learn online, how can I do this if I'm banned from being noob? Other than that I loved the game and wanted to learn how to play it, thx in advance for your responses.

  2. im pretty sure that the tutorial shows you that catapults destroy walls

not setting up a catapult behind your walls is just common sense

Its not about spwaning the catapult beacause I wanted, I just saw a crate, thought that it was a wood crate clicked 'e' and then, I saw a glimpse of text saying "spwan catapult" or whatever and then, puff, catapult in my base. Its not because of the common sence, because I play other games, its about not knowing enough, and kicking me wont make me get better I think...

Well, the difference between an absolute noob, and a greifer is pretty minimal.

Regardless, what this teaches you is to not build catapults inside the base.
Go through the tutorials (Single Player Mode: Challenge, Save the Princess, even Sandbox... and I forgot what the last one was), and try out a coop/competition/challenge server, marked by the sword icon under the server type. One or so of the maps require you to use a catapult, though in the Save the Princess mode, but it is entirely optional, though recommended.

For the most part, Greifers are very destructive in this game, and you have to be very quick in kicking them, to prevent damages, let alone prevent the kick vote from failing.

Besides, in any game: "Who the fuck builds siege weapons, like catapults, far from a fortification, or a contested line?"

The issue isn't knowing enough; it is more about having common sense.

Do I do something that I have not tried, and don't know what will happen? (Probably not, especially in a team versus team match: Consequences matter very much, and you'll find that your teammates will have no tolerance for it... Much like with LoL, Dota 2, Starcraft 2, L4D, Warthunder, WoT, ...)

Instead: I should ask someone to help me with this, and avoid the consequences of my blind flailings.
(This is why there are teachers, schools, mentors, and seniors... They try to help you learn what is what.)

I think it is normal if you accidentally do stuff since you are new to the game. When such people apologize for the accident and explicitly state that they are new, I try to help them and give them tips instead of yelling at them. (Ok, I may yell at them and say bad words initially ::D: ) Afterall, we were all noobs once!

The likelihood someone would stop and help him is, well, low.

You're not banned for a long time so it's not a big deal. Consider starting as archer lr maybe knight to prevent this kind lf things, you'll see other builders and know what is what.

Heh, as in any online game, try to find the nicest players, play with them and learn from them. As you can see, at the forums we communicate respectfully (huehue), there are less lamers in general.
The best classes to begin with are the archer and the knight. Watch other players and learn from them

To chime in here - you might want to state that you're new and might need help upon joining. You'll get the hang of it quickly, and learn far more quickly online than in single player. After a few games you should start feeling confident that you're not screwing everything up constantly, haha.

Rubbing a few people the wrong way while learning is pretty normal, and people on the internet can be jerks. Don't take it too personally :^)
