    Brazilians speak Portuguese

    Chilean, Argentinian, Bolivian, Peruvian, Spanish, etc ... speak Spanish

    Spanish is spoken in most of South America, but in Brazil Portuguese is spoken instead. The languages are somewhat similar in appearance, though, maybe you mistook both as a single one because of that.
