New smiles - blocks

actual smileys with tile gfx from the game could get handy. We could quickly make mockups of constructions right here on the forums and edit them easily. Mincraft forums have had that for a while, so why not add a similar system here?

 

something like this (using regular images now since this is just a test). Also, can't use more than 20 images in a post, so this is just a small collage





The tiles i have cut out so far are in this archive (scaled to 16x16 from original 8x8). Do we need more? The object blocks (workshops, catapult and outpost) are there as single tiles too for ease of tiling, having them as full objects didn't seem like a good idea.

Also, it seems like there are spaces between lines even between images. So this either it will look ugly like this, or some tweaking has to be done somewhere...

thought some background colours would blend with some blocks so i just left the white pixels. But whatever, probably good either way. Anyway, what can be done with the space between the images in actual posts?

This is pretty much the simplest readable names i could come up with. They could also be shortened to (arrow workshop), :d_bg: (dirt background) etc, but that could get confusing, so i kept it more or less understandable. On the other hand it does not matter much since these will be smileys, and people will choose them from the emoticon menu by clicking on images directly and never having to deal with the :codes:.

Also, team_bridge is like that because it might be changed later on and we'll have a generic bridge (team_door is like that for consistency).

Edit: discussed this with Rayne and added a few shorthand codes
