    My old idea was that players would be able to go through 3 tabs (Heads, torso, pants) and choose from the selections that would fit together. The problem with that is that the character sprites use tracking pixels with the heads, and having customization options that make up the body use tracking pixels would make things rather complicated, I think. I'm no expert.

    Also, i added a backpack to the archer (Although the arrows will be the only thing you see).

    Edit: Also, made bows and arrows metal, to fit with the metal shields.

    Already have a metal shield

    also, the way i was gonna code it was so you pressed a key such as P then pick a shield there, but i guess other things could be on the same menu

    selecting an item on the menu would change a variable for your player then change your sprite accordingly, no use of sprite layers at all.

    Shit. That heater shield is amazing. If, on the off chance, you also like the idea of different bow styles and tools, perhaps pressing P in different shops would bring up a customization menu special to said class.

    Also, how about an all-wood shield? Or wood with metal bolts. Barbarian-style with unrefined wood and all.

    doesnt need to require a shop, i can just detect the player class then change the menu accordingly.

    yea those sound nice, try to get that kag style down tho, i can clean them up if you have trouble.

    That KAG style is rather unique. Having unrefined wood makes it odd to outline. It is troublesome, but I have time.

    Edit: I suppose i should try making a shield out of what looks like a log (item), but I had a nifty idea for woven shields. These are rough copies, of course. Didn't make whole sheets. It doesn't really look much like the rest of KAG, which is why i'll scrap it.

    There are three notable materials in KAG: Stone, Wood, Gold.

    Also, the log shields look terrible, no dimension, just bland patterning; go back to the reshaped knight shields.

    Can't really make a woven shield too well in pixel form. I tried a kite shield, but the uneven 1/2 of the shield was rather confusing, as the outline conflicted with the body outline.

    I'll go and try to make a scutum (of sorts). Pretty much a tower shield.

    Have you ever played Diablo II? If not, you should check out some of their shield designs and base your work off of that. I always loved the shields in that game.

    I've done more than that, and I'm at the jumping sprites.

    Edit: After this shield business, I'm going to try and make a caveman texture pack. Here's a concept sprite for the 'knight'. Will probably change helmets to something more fitting for the rest of the enviroment. May even make builders punch shit. http://i.imgur.com/xeNzkjo.png

    Updated On scutum.

    I'm halfway through the male sheet. My editing software fucked up for a half an hour, then I re-installed. I had back-ups, so I didn't loose anything besides my old work.

    As soon as Geti fixes those fucking head desync bugs, life will be so much easier. Also, customization is cool, but should we get to the level of TF2 with all hats unlocked by default?

    Update. Scutum doesn't look shit in-game, so I'll work on female version now.

    Honestly, was sort of bummed. Can't wait to work on the cavemen after the dual-wielder.

    Update!

    Revised male scutum a bit and started on female.
