[TDM] Castle in the Sky (map)+floating islands

    Hello!
    It's been awhile since I've been here, but yeah.
    Here's the map (300x100):

    A broken guardian watching over the castle.

    [​IMG]
    The castle ruins taken over by vegetation.

    [​IMG]
    Floating islands in the endless sea of sky.

    P.S. The one who gets the castle first will dominate. (probably)
    Anyways if anyone is going to use this in their server, just let me know, because I wanna try it out too!

    Ever since I learned that falling off the bottom of the map kills you, I thought every server should have these kinds of maps.
    I would absolutely love to see this played online.

    I'm wondering if it's possible to have Outposts placed on Each Island except for the extreme left and right ones. Would make a fun gamemode similar to War or Domination or whatever.

    These are the best aesthetics I have ever seen in a map ever. This map is goddamn fucking beautiful.

    However I don't think it would play that wall as there is a lot of space between islands, and not very much space to build/materials to mine. A lot of maps have chasms or valleys and those stall the game down so much to the point where ant kind of map movement completely ends at those points.

    I would love to see this kind of look adapted for a Rapid TDM map, though.

    I love the idea.

    But as Contrary said, there's too much space between islands, but that's fixable. And you could also just try to "build" a bigger artificial island (you would need an island of materials though)

    Hmm, when I loaded it up in map editor to test it out, the islands don't exist and I just fall to my death. What is going on here :(

    I tried doing something similar, but without connection to the bottom of the map, the islands just break apart at the first digging. At least that's what happed with me.
    It's very beautiful map though. feels like an ancient land forgotten by kagkind

    you can connect the islands to the bottom of the map with earth background though

    Looking good, if you could make a compact version with say half the islands i'd give a shot in hosting it (too big for my lowly VPS)

    Thank you everyone for your response!!! Appreciated really! Thank you! I took your info and updated the map.
    It's now connected with background dirt to the ground level, so I suppose it won't fall now? I made another version too, with bridges for DMing. ( Version 2 hold the bridges )
    + added broken ladders to the castle

    In regards to the lack of building materials, why not just increase the default materials given when one spawns? Either that or make materials continual when spawning. Meaning that you start with materials each new life, just make it less than the very first life. Perhaps 40 or 50 of each?

    I don't think so because if you load something what would normally collapse it flys until u destroy a part of it for example with a bomb!
    So it is easy collapsible but some seconds it may look good =)

    Mishka, how do you get the "Tree Top" to look so good. When I try to do this in a map I'm working on, it comes out like a pine tree; I just want those branches :3

    edit: Scratch that. I realized it's the tree fork. But, how do you get it so lush, some of the ones I'm placing won't grow leaves.

    I just realized the "vines" dangling down are tree trunks. It would be cool if someone made a map that was basically all a cave but with a series of the vine-trees haning down all over so archers could climb right across the roof of the map.

    Yeah it happens to me too! I think it's random how the leaves grow.
    I'm currently making a map similar to that. It's kind of a jungle themed.
