[TDM][1vs1] Skydive

    MINDBLOWING, I know.

    It's a pretty common arcade game-style. You fall down, and as you fall down you try to evade objects trying to stay alive.

    This map is exactly that, except when you hit the ground, a bunch of ladders break your fall, and the last standing survivors can fight it off 'till death does it's part.

    This map is completely free for anyone to use in their server, I obviously hold no copyrights. If you wish to improve this map or use it as a template of some sort, all I ask is that you keep the BoW-tag in it, but that's a request, not a demand.
    Feedback and ideas are very welcome. :)

    Update:
    Completely re-created the map.
    • I applied Contrary his suggestion, there are now 20 tiles of backwall above a spiked block to indicate where the blocks will be.
    • Added a spiked wall on both sides so you can't go into the wall nor slide on it.
    • Added a a spiked wall in the middle so you can't go to the enemy's "path". I did this because if an enemy hits you in your fall, there's a good chance you will glitch out, or die, and there's no telling when an enemy will hit you or not, it's too random.
    • Made the path identical for both sides (albeit mirrored) to make sure it's all fair.
    • Made sure there's no way you can survive if you fall straight down without moving left or right. (Dropped hearts from the top, none made it down).
    • Made the first blocks appear a bit later, so players can prepare.
    • Made sure the map is possible, I did this zoomed out AND zoomed in.
    • Made sure the map slowly becomes harder

    I like it, very nice but yeah you should give it a name and ask a mod to change your thread name accordingly :)

    This looks very interesting. Inspiring me to make a "Jack and the Beanstalk" type of map with a castle in the sky and... WE'LL SEE?

    Longer, wider, more blocks, at least one on every X coörd. I'll also make it so the tents don't fall down.

    Other than the safe vertical paths, is the difficulty okay? Or would you like more, and wider blocks?

    Also I had some idea for this map... Maybe you could put trails of castle background above each stone to make it easier to tell when things are coming? Also maybe some small sections of ladder to help you by slowing you down.

    The backwall thing is brilliant Contrary! I can't believe I didn't think of that before. I'll defnitly implent that.

    But I don't think the ladders will be of any use, when you fall down you reach max velocity pretty fast, I think its about 10 tiles.

    Shadlington, if you're reading this: I will add Contrary's back-wall idea tonight, I'll also make the map itself a bit easier, and make the blocks appear later. Because when I play this map on your server, no one makes it even past 30%, and people usually die before they even know what's happening to them. I'll let you know exactly when it's updated. :)

    Good idea; With the current amount of maps in rotation, this map goes by awfully fast and then we have to wait a long time to play it again!

    You can add the map into the mapcycle file a couple more times (in a row or every so often).

    I actually liked the map as it was before and now you changed it so that hopefully more people stay alive and that's even better!
    I think it'll be even more fun now!^^
