How do i use this thing? Ballistas

    So i was in a TTH game where we had a ballista set up. I jumped in and started to fire bolts, only i really couldn't tell where i was in the loading time of it or for how long i had charged it for or how the damn thing works anyways. So does anyone know the in's and out's of it or is it just a bugged game mechanic (as i suspect).

    They take a little while to load, and of that length I have no idea. I tend to just hold LMB until it fires :rektlord:

  3. The loading time ballistas have is not visually obvious. It has a series of clicks that indicate the rough level of charge, and when the clicks increase in frequency, it is indicating it's fully charged. You only need to charge for a few clicks, not sure the exact number if you just want to drop a bolt right near the ballista.

    It's a bug that I have experienced.
    I personally don't use it that much, so I wouldn't know how frequently it happens.
     
  6. The clicks are slightly faster than a one second interval, I think.

    Shot, count on your head, retry to shot, low shot ? Take the count as a loading, load shot again, count and load before shotting again. Something like that:
    1.2.3 FIRE
    Spam and count. 1 2 3 4 5 Basically Low shot. > do your last number shot and add the time you got
    1.2.3 FIRE. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 FIRE. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 FIRE. Leave it and buy ballista Bolt. Come back and.
    1 2 3 FIRE. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 FIRE... Etc

    The sec is not exatly that but your shot have to work like that. Remember the Ballista Bolt work like arrows so you can shot on the sky and desdroy a tower wall like that.

    Is it just me or should the ballista not be this hard to operate? I can use a cata just fine why can't the ballista be the same?

    Ballistas have been a broken mess since I bought the game. Sometimes you load ammo and it glitches and you can't shoot anymore. Sometimes it will fire regular ammo even if you paid for the upgrade, and not to mention the pain in the ass it is to operate them, and now with this new capping mechanic there are even worse.

    Because ballista can do somes really bad damage, is so easy to got your enemis and when they are explosive they make a nightmare, when a knight approchate you just spam the slow distance shot and whait for your friends to respawn, is why ballista get nerf

    is not so hard, is like knight or archer, when you got the thing you are good
    The clic is a little help for making you able to know how many time you have to charge for a little/medium/hard shot

  12. You know I think it would make sense that you couldn't spawn at a ballista as it's being capped..

    Everythings is about putting the ballista at a good point like hight spot so you can stop the enemis by just kicking them off and give the time to teammate to spawn

    Whis war boats i use a usefull thing, when you are at a land you put somes backwalls and block your entrance whis blocks, so leave only two doors or traps and make sure you don't make the boats bugged. Is something like that

    So make sure you are not going to use that boat because is now a fixed spawnpoint, you can also add more blocks on the top but that generaly protect nicely you the time to your team to respawn, make sure no bombs are going to kill you.

    Personally I find ballistas only useful for spawnpoints, catapults only useful for throwing knights and warships for ramming/suppressing bases (and obviously I find warship spawnpoints useful.)

    IKR, I bought the explosive upgrade and my teams ballista fired reg shots....

    Firing a ballista is a game of chance. Half the time you don't hear the clicks, you don't know when it's loaded.

    There's another bug the devs could choose to fix -- but won't, because no one is working full time on this game anymore. They don't give a fuck and it's a massive success in their minds.
