Ace of Spades General

I tried to play multiple times, but for some reason this game doesn't want to work for me.

 

you have to install the latest version,(reinstall if old cause itl give an error otherwise) after that choose a server that ISNT full from the website and it should launch you directly into it.
otherwise tell me what error your getting.

 

No matter what, (with 50000 fresh installs i tried) I get the error "Sever connection failed: the server is either full or misconfigured" no matter what server no matter how many people in it.

 

I had it too not long ago,deleted the old one and reinstalled AGAIN.
then i took a server wich would guarantee to be not full/misconfigured and it worked.
servers get full fast.

 

I played 10 min..After I was tired ..Bad bad graphic.

 

if bad graphics are the cause,dont play minecraft,terraria,king arthurs gold and any other pixel game out there.
seriously how would it render if it was another graphic whore like Cod(wich gets a 'new' game each year)
and the main feature of it is the tactical advantages 3D enviroment and blocks give.

 

You're a fool if graphics dissuade you.

Lol I play Minecraft,Terraria and all 8bit games they have awesome graphic but FPS shooter with like 1 texture ..Nan I don't like that and I don't like shooter so not my types of games !

 

For anyone that is having "server full or misconfigured" error for every server, it's usually the browser. If you're using firefox to try and play.. forget it. As terrible as it is, use Chrome instead. I also heard Internet Explorer works too sometimes. You may still get the same error at the odd times, but you'll at least be able to play.

As for the use of the single texture thing - it's actually not that bad if you're in a well made map. This game is a beta as well don't forget - it's still in progress, and it's possible that the developer may introduce texture options later. I sure wish the damn fog was an option though.

The game is also not perfect. It's the fact that you can destroy blocks with gunfire easily that's the problem. Yes you can destroy a wall with gunfire in real life, but if you're in a concrete bunker with 2 foot thick walls, it would take ages, even for a .50 caliber machine gun to dig through the concrete. It would be a complete waste of valuable ammo. So, in AoS, you should be able to build a bunker that's 99% bullet proof. It can still otherwise be blown up or dug out with pick axes. But there should at least be blocks of different strengths. Weaker blocks that can be built faster and used for hiding and stronger blocks for bunkers and stuff.

Any other Linux users? I have to run AOS through WINE. I love the concept and the graphics, but the game seems really twitchy...like someone slipped cocaine into my fifth cup of coffee. I'm wondering if this is the game, or just what I'm using to run it.

I love the KAG team so much for supporting Linux.

It's just the game. I'm on a brand new Win 7 and it's twitchy. But that might just be because I'm on a laptop.

 

i lol so hard playing this game with my friends, its fun to destroy building with people on it , the grapichs are ok for mei dont care a lot about grapichs.

That is becuase your stuck in a wall, if someone digs you out, your screen is normal again! :d
