I've spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out what content I should produce to keep you all entertained, and possibly attract some new blood to KAG. I have a really fun idea that I'd like to try out, but I'm gonna need a lot of people to help me organize such an event!

I've got a ton of ideas I'd like to work on, but I'd like to keep things simple for now. What do you guys think about having a builder only server? It'd be like builder wars without mechanisms. My hopes for this would be utter chaos and madness as these super-structures are created, and then destroyed by coordinated enemy entombing efforts. Please keep in mind that this could totally flop, especially if nobody wants to participate, but this would be the start of a really cool series I have in mind.

In order for this to work I'm going to need:

• A server
• Modding to make it builder only
• And a group full of willing participants. I'd love to have a lot of pubs join, but I'm also interested in having an active mumble group so I can record some of the reactions!

I'd love to know what you all think about this!

can host a server, will make the mod with friends (unless someone makes it earlier). how many slots do you want?
also, CTF or TTH? max ping? etc etc.

also, any specific maps?

 

I like 20 slot servers, I prefer Ctf, I don't care what maps we play :) Unless hardcore tunneling becomes too much of a problem

I wish if I could join...but..ehm...I'm the worst builder you could ever meet in KAG
maybe if some great builders would join this then it will be a total success (col@r, RadioActive, Punk123 (he's a good laggy builder too lel) ,...)

wait a sec, Bunnie are you going to host an EU server or an US one ?

 

Ideally I'd prefer US. But because it's not combat focused it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Let's do some test runs on some EU servers and see how things go. The main concern is that EU players might be sleeping when this event is scheduled, causing a majority of the players on the server to be from the US. You might as well have a US server at that point...

tho I had some other ideas:
-double resources you get from resupply
-buying mine from the buildershop ? (I know they could be easily destroyed by other builders but it could be good to trick some crazy enemies that are in a hurry )

The dirty swine, cant we have like GMT 10 PM? USians will play at 3-4 PM if i recall correctly?

 

I removed the knightshop and the archershop (it's illogical to have them if you want a builder-only mod -_-)
what will a builder do with a bomb,waterbomb,keg,arrows,firearrows,waterarrows or bombarrows ?

 

you could keep the knight shop, because it has one universal item, ffs.

 

so let me get it, a builder will build a knightshop to buy a one useful item?
Bunnie please use your brain man. (so you're saying that he needs to waste 150 wood (for the building), and extra 50 wood to build a knightshop and then loose 60 coins to buy a mine...and then an enemy comes and with a one hit the mine no longer exists?... )
that's my point of view anyway, since I think in a builder-only fight all the builders will become offensive ones that try to loose the least possible of resources (and ofc build the least possible of useless shops )

How hard is it to mod something like that?

With wood no longer being a problem to fire arrows I'm sure it's gonna be spammed. Can we get a fire satchel, kegs, and mines?

They either need to be expensive or coin intake has gotta be nerfed. Same goes for ballistas and catas? I'm not sure how to go about balancing something like this... it's going to be very spamming and a lot of tunneling. I want people to use kegs wisely.

 

tho I still think it's kinda illogical...but well, I made the builder able to use kegs too... but now how is a keg supposed to cost?
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I added the satchel too but I need to know how is it supposed to cost too.

 

If you elminate getting coins for kills I think 300 coins for a keg is a fair price? I want people to be able to destroy stuff very easily because I know that there's going to be a lot of wood and stone spam.

People will be getting a shit ton of coins if they build up the god towers I'm expecting, but I don't want them to have so many coins that the just sit at the top of a tower and spam kegs.

It'll probably be easier to determine if we test some things out... How soon are you guys able to get a server up and running with this script installed? Also add me on steam if you haven't already: TheDirtySwine or skyper: Djmoon97

 

This sounds really cool. Let us know when it's done. But builder money comes from building, not kills. Seems a bit illogical to take away coins from kills, instead of nerfing coin intake from building. Now you're just gonna see offensive wood spam being rewarded and coinfarming at the base.
