    Instakill seems a little to excessive. They just need something that can prevent them from being screwed utterly in those close quarters situations.

    No, they need nothing that prevents them from being screwed in close-quarters. Their job is to screw knights over long-range, and knights screw them back if they get up close.

    I still have little to no trouble with knights at a distance. Also, there's nothing like an arrow to the face to make a bomb-jumper fall to their death.

    With the exception of the double-bomb-jump, any archer who's not going down to ground-level to shoot should be well out of range of the things you mentioned. The main issue I have with Archers getting a knife is that people will stop using the terrain around them to their advantage, and will just go get themselves decapitated.
    If you let a knight get that close to you, then you're either a bad archer, or it was unavoidable, ala Rapid games.

    I'm pretty sure having a knife wouldn't just make people run out and die, particularly if it causes very low damage. As archers, they'll still have to use the terrain in order to get cover from incoming arrows, and even if they did want to get themselves decapitated, knight would still be the class of choice.
    When it comes down to it, archers don't really have much defensive ability at long range either: they can hide, or they can make an attempt to shoot at their agressor, which in turn makes them vulnerable to being shot themselves. A knight can essentially just stroll through any incoming fire with their shield up. Since knights can defend themselves at any range, surely an archer should have the ability to do even a bit of damage to prevent themselves from getting cornered?
    I think what we're talking about is nothing like the sword or the hammer of other classes; it is a low damage, slow attacking weapon, which could easily replace the current digging animation, whilst still making sense.

    Honestly tho, rat tunnels wouldn't be the main point in crawling.
    You have to stand still to lie down, which is usually a bit hard to do while in the middle of a huge fight, this would help it.
    And it'd be awesome.

    Quite a lot actually. You can use it to get out of pits, when knights follow you down, you can escape and they are stuck! :D

    Well what? Unwound is correct and the crawling is a brilliant idea allowing the archer to escape from pits if they have no arrows (Dirt Pits ofc).
