    Hello, I'm having some trouble with getting a server running correctly, I can't seem to authenticate myself as Admin.

    I'm running the server through the site that the Kag2d page recommends; Gentleman and scholar hosting, but I can't figure out how to log in as an admin whilst in the server. Please help.

    One way is to use the rcon and type your /rcon password in, you will be placed in a super admin rank.

    The second way is to go into kag/securtiy/superadmin.cfg and it will have something like this

    users =

    after the user = place your name so

    users = darksteel;

    and then restarted your server and run/

    I wish I could say that this worked. But neither did. :[

    Notes: the .cfg files in the security subfolder on the hosted server all end in ".example", will this cause issues?

    I have no idea what I am doing.

    Yeah, you need to remove the .example if you actually wanna use it. (or change the secfile definitions in autoconfig.cfg, but I wouldn't recommend that)

    I can't rename the files, does anyone else use Gshost? I think this may be something to do with them...

    I did find something; A note that says "Connect with FTP for full options". buuut I have no idea what FTP is.

    You can try to rename it or just edit your autoconfig where it say's
    sv_rconpassword = Enterpasswordhere

    And then when in game just press home button and type

    /rcon /login Enterpasswordhere

    What operating system are you on? If it's windows I recommend FTP client called WinSCP. It's really good. FTP is File Transfer Protocol - basically it's something that let's you manage files on remote server (without going into details). Once you connect to the ftp server you'll be able to add files, rename them, delete them. Just like they were on your HDD. All the connection information to the server on GSHost can be found in server management tab. Your username and password for gshost.us site is your username and password to FTP.
