I'm just wondering: if you knew 42 is the meaning of life (and this is proven fact) why did you make this thread?

Life has no meaning. Nothing has meaning, we as humans attribute our meanings to things. Those things are nothing, it's the meanings we care about. It's human nature to want to feel in control, to make everything neat and perfect and straight. We also feel entitled to know everything about the world in which we live.

Life has no meaning, we are merely a fleeting blink of an eye to something so immeasurably vast there are no words capable of describing it.

I say: Meaning of life is just personal. Actually, there is no any meaning to it, until you set one by yourself.
You may want to believe that meaning of life is to breed. Well sure, meaning of life is to breed for you, then.

There is no reason but your mind just dont let you suicide so its like a mental jail except everyone in the jail is mentally messed up persons so we doesn't really care or know if they are stuck in a prison and they think it's a great life and that it is better then being a mass of atoms floating in the dark nothingness of space!

 

Scientifically speaking the meaning of life is to reproduce. Think about it, in a way, everything we do is to reproduce. You work out to look good, people with good looks have a higher chance to reproduce. You study hard to get a good job, people with a good job have a higher chance to reproduce. You get better at a sport, even though this is usually fun aswell, suprisingly people with a sport or hobbie that they're good at, is also more appealing.
You go out and party to meet new people, get more friends, gain social status, to improve your chances of reproducing. It's pretty sad thought, but pretty much everything we do is in a way, so we improve our chances of reproducing. Think about it.

//edit, important to add: In fact, the first brain scale, or the primitive brain scale is the cause for such behaviour. I might spin it a little off topic towards a discussion about attraction, but the primitive brain scale contains the two "elements?" *survival* and *reproducing*. Back in the day (primitive days) that was the meaning of life, to survive, and to reproduce. Even tho we evolved from that, it remains to be our primitive goal in life. Younger brain scales, like the second brain scale contains stuff like emotion, and the 3rd or/and 4th contain stuff like art, culture, and filosofy, and I suppose playing games. But due to our primitive brain scale, the main thing in life is to survive, and to reproduce. And that's pretty much the meaning of life, what you do besides that doesn't matter, it only matters that you survive and reproduce. (And if you think about it, that's pretty much what everyone does).
ps: I might be wrong about what brain scale 2 to *w/e* contains, but I'm dead on about the primitive one.

(Personally I just life live in the spur of the moment, I might be a bit of a hippie tho, if I fail a test, I won't be sad for 2 weeks, I'll just be like "meh, what's next". That's how I've been living my life so far. Whatever the goal in life might be, I'll see when I care, the meaning of life is to live).

You have to look at the concept of existing. That alone is meaning enough for me.

I'm pretty close to finding the meaning of life, I'm just a few blanks away...
