Umm. Feeling like an utter noob here, but how do I get the file open so I can fiddle with things?

Ehh I wouldn't really go through that. How I perfected all my pro bomb jumping skills is by going on Fu Fu's server as you get 3 bomb in the building period and the server is always empty so the game never starts,

    KAG>Base>Rules>CTF(or SwordFight)>knight.cfg

Double click, it asks you what program to use, choose from a list, open with notepad.

You can make it up to 250, I know I have for sandbox mode. I added knight and archer as well. You can just build a OP at start to change class.

Is bomb jumping something we actually want in the game? I always thought of it as an exploit. It makes the knights so much more mobile than any other class. It contributes to the feeling that knights are over powered. I mean, why be an archer and spend time collecting arrows to build a arrow ladder over a wall, when you can buy one bomb and jump over 3 walls?

    Just my thoughts.

Pretty sure its intentional at this point, they even made changes specifically to bomb jumping in the past, so yeah.

The solution isn't to nerf knight, because knight is fun. The solution is to bring archers up to par.

Archers used to be the very fun, mobile class and bomb jumping used to have a maximum height of 5 tiles with no midair control. The developer made it very clear that the recent change was very intentional.

I didn't actually realize that, despite having played back then. I think it could use some toning down in the very least. I see people bomb jumping the entire way into the enemy base on individual missions which I think is detrimental to teamplay in KAG.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

Guessing you're talking about all those times we played together and had tons of bad builders not doing anythnig and I got frustrated and just superhero jumped into the enemy base to toss back the flag, Rayne too.

On most of those maps this tactic is easily fixed by one nice tall wall with spikes on top and an overhang, on most of the maps on Action where there are few maps, you can just connect the primary wall to the top of the map and it will deny any jumpers, sadly everyone worries about Acavado trains instead of people just jumping over it. It wouldn't be a problem and it isn't one when all of the builders on aren't terrible, it only takes 1-2 good builders to deny the knight jumping straight to the flag, and on larger maps (think INCARNUM) rushing is hardly a problem like this :P

To be honest, if I knew how to bomb jump, I probably would be doing the same thing. I don't blame you one bit for doing it. It just seems bad for the class balance.

And then after reading the guide either:
    1. Go on Fu-Fu's server and practice, or
    2. Go on Noburu likes this server (bombjumping) and practice, or
    3. Edit the 'knight' .txt file in KAG>Base>Rules>Swordfight so that you spawn with 250 bombs and practice.
    ;)

Just an FYI to add to everyone doing it on a server is better, 'Zero Lag' or single player bomb physics are so different and timing is different, it's scary. go try it out and compare ;)

I'm not going to bother practicing because the developers will obviously listen to me and change it, so what's the point?
