    Robert Heanlein is a brilliant Sci-Fi writer. His books are old-ish, short but amazing once you get into them. Dont know of anywhere you could get them, i got them from my father.

    Heinlein's Glory Road is pretty good, but I dunno not my favourite author personally. I think if you want to get into Scifi you should start with Ender's Game for sure.

    Anything by David Gemmell.... His books about Druss the legend are top precentage fantasy material.

    Also the Gotrek and Felix warhammer fantasy models... awesome books.

    Dammit. I was literally just checking this thread to see if it had been posted. -.-
    The book 'Legend' is possibly to best, because it is far simpler than most of the others. The Lion of Macedon is also great, and Jon Shannow books are the perfect future.
