    Creators website + download.

    From the website:
Iji is an action-packed strategic platform shooter with a detailed story, large levels with multiple paths, powerful bosses and lots of secrets. There are alternate gameplay events, dialogues and scenes depending on what you do, a wealth of extras and bonus features, and seven stats to upgrade through a leveling system. Iji herself has superhuman strength and abilities, and can crack Nanotechnology, use her enemies' most devastating weapons against them, and be a pacifist or a killer - the story adapts to how you play. Soundtrack by Chris Geehan and Dan Byrne McCullhough, songs also by Tom Mauritzon and Captain Goodnight (and LifeForce, but their song was not originally recorded for Iji).

    My personal experience:
    Bloody fantastic.
In my honest opinion, the best freeware game out there. Gameplay, story, characters, music, everything is of top notch quality. Replay value is good aswell, as you can choose between either total annihilation of anyone you lay your eyes upon or life-caring pacifism. Lots of hidden goodies also add to longetivity.
But the best thing about this game to me is that I actually cared for the characters. That doesn't happen in many games. I'm not going into the reasons why, that could spoil the story.

If you (even slightly) deem yourself a gamer, play this game. Right now. Stop reading this, go play it.

    OH YES.
I have played through this game at least 10 times. The gameplay is addicting and the overall quality makes me wonder why it isn't freeware. Plus, the final boss fight was quite epic, and the mayhem that can happen is hilarious and exhilarating.

    Gem of a game :l.
At first it looks like a boring platformer where you basically roll around and kill stuff.
But then you learn that its more then just some scouts trying to kill you and the story and voices are gripping too.
Plus it gives you the ability to walk away from most enemies if you want to and the logs are a good idea too.
And its free,so for those that still didnt play because the graphic style or 1st level wasnt for them stop wasting your time here and go play.

I absolutely loved this game when I first played it a couple of years ago, the story is AMAZING, not just for a freeware game, but for a paid full blown retail game. Very little games put you in the immersion this one slickly provides to you on a platter. And like you said, I really cared about the characters, especially in one of the levels where *very minor spoiler alert here* 'a loved one is threatened with his life' I'm still struggling to get to the last sector though, can't find all the posters :\ On the plus side, remember remar said he probably wasn't going to make an Iji 2? He's changed his mind! Let's hope it lives up to the very high standards of the first. In other words play it. Play it now.

Oh yeah everyone loves Iji. The way to get the good ending is bullshit though.

...good ending? You mean the one where Dan doesn't die? Because that's such a small change in the ending that it's not really worth it unless you want to see absolutely everything.

If you were actually into the story you'd find that really significant. Your brother and the only other human being you interact with the whole game? She also goes pretty bonkers without Dan.

    We need a spoiler tag.

Yeah, we need a spoiler tag, as Iji sure has some good spoilers.

Iji, Aw yeah. At first the controls were a little "iffy" to get used to, but after adjusting to them, I couldn't stop playing. The story's great: And the game really picks itself up the further you play. Fighting the Assassins, and the Final boss were my favorite parts. Truly a great game.

I thought Iji was ok, but I'd say that Remar's Hero: Core is far better, as is the music.
