I just recently picked up a $25 Vanilla Visa so that I could shop around for some cheap, good games. I was considering DustForce, which just came out on Steam, but I want some other recommendations. I'm looking in particular for games that are more indie-ish, and I guess it's a bit of a stretch, but something that has destruction/customization.

    Depends what you like.
What are some of your favourite indie games?

Well, Hammerfall and Bastion were pretty awesome. Although, this thread will hardly be a help anymore because I spent most of the money. I got

    DustForce
    Sonic Adventure: Director's Cut
    Flatout 2

  4. Terraria is fun. Kinda like KAG but WAY more sandboxy. It's 10 dollars or so. Big (but not very good) community.

    Have it. :]

  6. Awesome. On steam you can search indie games for under 10 dollars. Unless you have already used up the Visa :P

*saving everything for GW2, TL2, and donating the rest to KAG for super special early overworld access*

GW2 is something I can wait a while for, not really that interested. Also, already paid for my "KAG Premium". And what's TL2?

Torchlight 2. (20$) I'm already premium and was kind of kidding about donating the rest xd... unless it did get me early access :O!
GW2 will shake the mmo genre to the core!

Oh, Avadon was pretty cheap on Steam, its a great indie rpg if you dont mind graphics and animation. I've been a fan of the company since i was 12 and started playing the Exile series, happy to see they are on steam now 1 (the company, not the exile series, yet) Geneforge is also 20$ for all 5 in the series, kind of like Avadon to me, in that in both games your an agent of a powerful authority rather than a mewling peasant like MOST rpgs start you out as.

Money's long gone. What I bought:
    Sonic Adventure DX
    Sonic The Hedgehog
    DustForce
Cthulu Saves The World/Breath of Death IIV'

Might have missed something, considering everything was so cheap. Totally worth the money.

Magicka - good but funner with friends and suffers from the "get together 4 people constantly to finish" problem
Killing floor - you need this
GW2 - looks good but will be shit like every MMO, don't put so much stock into it, even ArcheAge isn't revolutionary enough and it is moreso than GW2
Terraria - about 10-20 hours of content solo at most, les if multiplayer
TL2 - poop for multiplayer still, D3 is also poop now
SPAZ - cool sure, but multiplayer is where fun is usually the highest

Every MMO is shit ? ArcheAge is MORE revolutionary than GW2? Do you just poop on things to hold your nose high ? Im over 200 hours of terraira, as are many others in KAG, and most of its solo, its a creative game, more fun if your 'creative'. I guess its no surprise that you'll dismiss an entire super genre the same way you throw statics around about other stuff.

and HOW is tl2 poop for multiplayer still? #1 had NO multiplayer, #2 HAS multi-player. Whats the 'still' ?

I beat terraria in 20 hours and exhausted what fun it had short of making new goldfish generators so I have no imagination? I think not. I thought that way when I was 13 about MMOs but I know better now, GW2 ain't going to change anything as it still has the same overall design, all arenanet ever did was take Y:Online style marketing to a whole new level.

TL sucked compared to D2 because of lack of multiplayer, TL2 has mp but is limited

    Also: holy shit autocorrect sucks

Is being predictable a sign of imagination? Still on your high horse belittling things. Its a sandbox game, you dont beat it by killing the wall of flesh, you dont beat it by getting a set of hallow armor and legendary weapons. You could just say 'in my opinion, my godly inflated opinion woe to all for not sharing it, terraira is a short and boring game.' That would still be preferable. But i dont know which version you played, its still evolving.

My only stated thought on MMO's was that they are a large genre, is that what your referring to when you say you used to think that? You grew out of he idea that MMO's are a genre, or would you specify a bit on a massively successful market.

TL2 will have co-op with randomized dungeons, pvp/trading, player specific drops and scaling content based on players and FULL MOD SUPPORT. Short of making it an MMO (which they are doing but you hate those) what more should you do?

GW2, like very few mmo's, is actually putting more action into the game, less hot bar button mashing. No tank/dps/heal trinity, heck no healers at all. They dont even have standard raids, and side-kicking makes level difference almost a non issue for teaming up. server vs server pvp rather than factions is also fresh, no good/evil division. But you think all MMO's suck so even if its the best mmo ever made you wont like it i suppose.

I just replayed it with my clan recently, and "it's creative " is a bullshit reply to a game with so little content. MMO isn't a genre but a prefix, MMORPGs are a genre.

I'll reply more I depth later on MMOs player base, general thoughts, pitfalls and reason for stagnation which gw2 does not break.
TL2 will have coop and pop but more limited than d3, and the general limits are similar overall really. I never said I hate MMOS, on the contrary, I love the genre but it is my love that makes me hate what it has become.

Gw2 is mostly making bandaid solutions for a huge problem that has persisted in MMOs for over 5 years, this overarching problem mostly being shown in how every MMO plays as if it is an entry level MMO to show you how a real MMO is supposed to be played but by the time you actually get to that level the game is over. This can't be fixed without a risk into making something that isn't so entry level newbfriendly and casual, because every business venture with the startup costs that an MMO requires can't take such big risks easily, they don't, they stick owing the same model of either WoW or F2P(micro transactions), and keep games easy, available, and addictive.

Action was never the problem with MMOs, and being action-packed won't solve the problem, baseball has more action per minute than baseball but I'd you ask someone which one is more action packed I guarantee they will say football more often(don't take my word for it though, look it up).

Based on your posts demo isn't me as some idiot MMO hater as if I work at FOX and run a daily review of how games sucks, I can only assume that you are either: A) viral (unlikely) B) naive (you really think any of this shit you spew is true) C) young ( by this I mean inexperienced in how these things work and suffer from an outside point of view backed up by a very short exposure) D) stupid ( not much different from naive in this context)
