    Heyoo.

So as it stands, I've created a server doing everything the Wiki page tells me to. I've also tried creating a server with Maqq's server Server config tool. When I open KAG, I can see my server on the list, but what I cannot do, is connect. I get the message "Trying to connect", then about 10 seconds later I get the message "Please check the address again and make sure the server is running." because I can't connect. Any ideas? Thanks loads.

Edit Base/Scripts/dedicated_autoconfig.gm and point the variable sv_ip to the right IP.
Also, jot down the IP reported in the master server and compare to the "right" ip.

Where does it show me the IP reported in the master server, and what do you mean "point the varible sv_ip to the right IP"? I'm a noob at this whole thing. ;)

doubleclick it it shows up in console as 'trying to connect to xxx' or whatever

point the variable = open the dedicated_autoconfig.gm file and ^F sv_ip

Thanks Teemo. So, now I've found that. It's saying that i'm trying to connect to "174.113.47.6:50301", yet even though my KAGServer.exe program (Maqq's) says I can config this, the KAGServer.exe console is showing "Starting server on 0:50301". Even after I've changed it?

0: -> bind to all ips.

traditionally formatted as 0.0.0.0 or something, dunno how windows works

So, it's not a problem with the IP's then?

considering i'm not getting a response connecting via netcat and you drop ICMP, i'm guessing you're behind a router. ports forwarded? this includes udp btw.

I have absolutely no idea what you just said. :P Could you dumb it down for me please. I have next to no idea what i'm doing and I just want to run a little local server for me and my friends in my network here. :P

It says Model DPC3825, and I can't find anything about a version. What do you mean by Exact brand? As far as I can tell it's only called a Cisco modem.

    visit http://192.168.0.1

click the login button (leave both fields blank if unset)

port forwarding is under "applications and gaming > port filtering"
start port = 50301 end port = 50301, protocol = both, enable = tick it

Read the server faq, you can only join your own server with Login -> Multiplayer -> Connect to -> Host: 127.0.0.1:50301 -> Connect

e: no necroposting next time pl0x
