Thread for the purpose of showing others your food discoveries and ideas.

If you do something with food you think is awesome/makes good results, share it, it may be someone elses cup of tea.

Or if you make some cool Chuck Greene style combo food and drink that you think is tasty, share that too.

    My tips:
When cooking steak/pork in a frying pan, put on lots of salt and pepper, more than you think would be plenty. I bet you'll be surprised as to how tasty it is.

If you have a cordial/syrup, mix it with milk. FREE MILKSHAKE (sort of).

    James' Vodka Risotto

Make your risotto with chopped mushrooms, sliced bacon and add a little bit of tasty cheese (Parmesan is good) to it to make it a little saucy. The Vodka as apposed to Wine, makes a nice subtle change to the flavour. Don't forget the vegetable stock :D

I'd like to see some Chuck Greene combo food soon as I'm going to uni in a few days :D

I love turkish food, but I think I'd be too lazy to cook it, besides he city I'm moving to has loads of food outlets, and will have turkish there.

Love the amount of meat you get with a turkish meal.

I have two excellent things that I always do.

First and foremost, if you're a fan of spicy food (like I am), buy this shit.

Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce. This stuff is a Godsent to anyone who enjoys heat. You could put the stuff in RAMEN and it makes it legendary. Use it liberally, because while it is nice and sweet tasting, it does become quite hot.

    Second, homemade Alfredo sauce!

1/2 stick butter in a sauce pan, melt it down, add salt, pepper, parsley, garlic (preferably minced, but you can use garlic salt), and let it heat until bubbling. Then add about an equal amount of white wine as there is butter. After that starts bubbling, add about 2-3 cups of heavy whipping cream (66% milk fat or whatever it is), and after that heats, start adding in handfuls of Parmesan cheese until it starts to thicken up. Instant, delicious, homemade Alfredo sauce, and it takes about 5 minutes!

Well, I would neither consider this to be food or cooking, but it's edible, kind of. I have recently devised a sandwich, an incredibly delicious sandwich, that can cure the common cold.

It consists quite simply of 2 pieces of bread, on 1 slice place Hot Chili Sauce, on the other add Mustard, preferably hot mustard. After doing so add pickles, or pickled onions, these are to be spread evenly throughout the sandwich. If you feel up for it, add fried eggs.

This could go quite nicely with above sandwich, I'll have to see if I can hunt it down.

    The perfect cheeseburger.

1 1/2 lb. burger patty (80/20 ground chuck preferably)
    1 fried egg (over hard)
    lettuce
tomato (if you prefer, I HATE tomato)
    ketchup
    swiss cheese

Just make the burger normally and put the egg on top of it! DELICIOUS!

I rarely cook, but I enjoy making desserts, currently the one thing I really enjoy messing with is molten lava cakes, they're super easy and fun to make :d
Never really found cooking much fun before that, need more things to get into it I guess.

    I have a new one....

Take a piece of bread... take a glass and cut a hole in the bread. Fry the bread in a pan, crack an egg in the hole and fry it aswell....

Something simple everyone can do at their local McDees. Best potato chip dip by far.
Ingredients: (they charge 0.15 euros for a curry sauce tub over here, but it's worth it!)
    1. 1 x Mayonnaise sachet
    2. 1 x Curry Sauce tub
    Preparation:
Put those useless miniature potato chip forks to good use and mix equals parts of mayo and curry on a flat surface - I tend to use the top half of the burger packaging when it's flipped open, to avoid spillage.

    Voilà! Your curryonnaise is ready!

It tastes better than it looks. Satisfaction guaranteed.
