Here's a little thread for the discussion of injuries, illnesses and broken bones.

Ima get the ball rolling with:

In the last eight months I have:
-Broke my left second and third metatarsals completely with much displacement.
-Had surgery to put wires through my feet holding bones together.
-Had surgery to remove said wires.
-Had a burst appendix, but didn't realise it was appendicitis so I didn't go to the doctors.
-Consequently I got peritonitis which I left unattended for 48 hours, this has a 40% death rate (when not attended for so long)
-My appendix was too munted for it to be removed through the fancy new tubey-suck-out-exploded-organs device thing, so I had a 7.5cm long cut right through my abdominal wall.
-Side affect of this operation was a bruised and swollen penis, SOMEHOW while I was face up under anesthetic, my penis got caught under my leg and was crushed.
-Had second operation to remove the large collections of poison throughout my intestines as a result of bad peritonitis. (CT scanner broke down just as I was about to have my op so I had a further 2 days wait while the machine was repaired FFs)
-Broke my left little toe THAT IS THE MOST PAINFUL BREAK I'VE EVER HAD.
    -Broke the same toe again.

    Other breaks:
    -Broke my left wrist
    -My right hand
    -My right thumb
    -My right hand again
    -My nose
    -Another left foot toe

    Illnesses:
-I've had gastroenteritis like twice but I never get sick.

Injury prone much? I've never broken a bone in my life. That's probably due to the fact that I'm on my computer at least 50 hours a week in my safe-haven of my home. I don't go out much, to say the least. I like my bed room...

I'm healthy all of the year except around October/November, particularly the third week of November I usually get a sickness that will leave me bedridden for at least a few days. Happens once a year.

Every single break I've had is sports related apart from 2 toes and my nose. Actually come to think of it I got a cracked nose in sport to.

I'm not brittle I'm just really hardcore lol:
Playing rugby, break wrist, continue playing rugby for an hour, go to doctors 2 days later :D.

In a Taekwon Do tournament, break 2 bones in my foot straight away (like totally smash them), continue fighting for all three rounds and managed to crack my opponents ribs.

Heres the X-ray of my foot from that fight. Bearing in mind I got really bad deep tissue damage in my other foot so extra tough guy points for me. Xraypic.jpg Xraypic2.jpg

I've only ever officially broken one bone in my life, although I suspect that I may have broken one of my toes recently; DAMN YOU CEILING!

Anyways, the story goes that I was playing hockey during games whilst in year 9. My team was, to put it politely, absolute shite. So, when I proceeded to make a death or glory charge in attempt to at least maintain some dignity whilst our team was gently pounded into the ground, I found no teammates accompanying me. I had no-one to pass to.
Therefore, I ran quickly at the goal, preparing to make a shot.
I missed. I missed so spectacularly that I hit my own leg with my hockey stick, and sent myself into a magnificent faceplant, which for some strange reason caused my shoulder to hurt. And, y'know, kind of bulge.
I sat out for about half and hour, before bringing my newly redesigned shoulder to the teacher for examination, and he took me back to the school, where I was examined again, before being taken swiftly to the hospital. Where I was examined again, and told I had broken my collar bone.
To this day, I have a lump where my collar bone healed awkwardly, which makes carrying heavy backpacks a pain.

Yeah I've seen some pretty munted collar bones, ay.

How on earth did you break a toe on the ceiling?

Mind you, in saying that I broke one of my toes practicing kicks on the top of a doorway (I can kick over 2 meters high from standing now :D), I accidentally kick the wall next to the door, so hard that all the bottles on a table in the next room (touching the wall) flew off the table lol.

Yeah I don't think one of my toes is ever gonig to heal, since I broke it stubbing it on a door, I've broken it again. It's broken low down so effectively there is more torques on the broken area, causing t to be re-broken easily. Honey badger don't give a shit though because its just a pinky toe, it doesnt hurt after you break it but when I first broke it, man that was the most painful break I've ever had.

    Indeed...

At first I was like :D but then I was all

Anyway, I've never broke any bones. Tore my rotator cuff and hurt my lats while doing clean and jerks and dropping it wrong once though. Thought I was a total misfortune. Then a guy tore his bicep deadlifting.

He said it didn't hurt at the time, but then his arm turned purple. and he could barely move. Looked like this

    You know what they say!

"It's not gore if there is still skin on it."

Then again, that means mashed potatoes have been gored. :huh?:

Well, I stubbed my toe a few days ago, rather hard. It's currently black, so I'm a little worried about that.

If its the third to 5th no worries, its most likely broken but no one cares about those toes...
