If you're in a country that has them, anywhere outside bro, probably not even to far from your house, they like to make egg cases under eves and around window sills. So yeah just look around outside in bushes and shit...

 

Yeah, in my country they do have them in the wild, but it's hard to find one. It's like a four hour train ride before I come in the proximity to be able to find one. Thanks though! :) How are both of them?

 

Well sadly I had to release one back into the wild. But Giblet is getting very big and strong and powerful, which reminds me she is due a feeding :D

He was to small of the several hundred kilometre car journey to where I live now... sadface.

But where I live now there are massive bugs called wetas, and there are three main types living here, cave wetas have really big legs and a body thats on average 5-6cm long, and they have very long antenna, because they live in caves, but they come out a night sometimes and get stuck on the reserve fence. There are the tree wetas, these beastly mother fuckers have smaller legs but very large blade like mandibles which they use to cut holes in tree bark, they kind of look like a grass hoper from hell but very large, and then there are the giant wetas, giant wetas are fucking massive, but theyare the most docile of the lot, are are quite tame to humans lol like this.

 

The bug mosnters from Peter Jackson's King Kong are based on Wetas. Thought you might like to know that.

 

I did know that :D, Yeah if I find a giant weta I'm totally stealing it from the reserve :D, using the excuse, well it was on the outside of the fence :D

Well cave wetas and giant wetas would have no quarrel with a mantis, even though they are much much larger, but if it came to it a tree weta would destroy a mantis, jsut through shear size and brute strength, these guys weigh like 40-50 gramns, and their jaws can easily slice through human skin.
