Aurora, Dwarf Fortress of the 4x games

Hai all.
This is a thread about AURORA.
Its a 4x game, wich means eXploit, eXpand, eXterminate and some other thingy like that xD
Dont mind googling it.
Googling aurora game gets you as close as the bay12 thread.

In the new players section, under tutorials, take the official text tutorial, it helps, the video tuts are a bit low-volume.

thats the forums, figure out how to install, eventually install resizenable or something like that if your screen res is lower then 1280x1024. EDIT: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/ResizeEnable.shtml I love how in about it says that it is 'a dirty sytem hack' and there are no 'fancy calculations' going on xD

Its really an awesome game, but you wont do it without tutorials.
Also, if you live in a country that uses , as a decimal seperator, you have to change it to . else the game will crash.


On windows 7 you can do it like this:
1. go to the configuration screen/panel, or control panel, or whatever its called, you know what i mean.
2. Clock, language and region
3. Language and country
4. More settings
5. Change the decimal seperator from , to a .
6.
7. Profit

 

Looks okay.
Of course, I would definitely classify Dwarf Fortress as a 4x, so I'm not quite sure what they were thinking when they wrote that sub-title. :P

Anyway, you really have to get the install right, this game is riddled with crashbugs.

Just because Master of Orion (the first game to be described as XXXX) was, doesn't mean they all are. ^_^
Granted, a great many are set in space, but then there's stuff like Civ. :P
