    I was thinking about a few things I find really useful, yet I don't really think I want to make a whole thread just for it.

    Alternative reinforcing:

    The farther out you can reinforce your tower the better, in some cases you may actually make a stronger structure with less stone by doing something like this:
    Example_Different building style.png
    This looks strange, but I do this sometimes on my forward towers, the farther away from the structure you can bring support in, the better. Makes it much harder to bring down without adding much cost.

    You can also do something similar with bridges, you almost make "two" bridges, and it can make it that much sturdier. Think of it as separating the back wall so 1 bomb can't take it all down:

    Stone Stairs:

    I sometimes do something like this when assaulting a tower:

    extreme example

    To either get up to a sky bridge, over a very tall tower, and it is sometimes easier to do this than trying to ladder up a tower because of the combat situation, you could also make a Linepiece in front to protect you slightly. Also there are a few variations to this:
    1
    :castle_bg::castle_wall::blank:2
    :castle_bg::blank::blank::castle_bg::castle_wall::blank:3
    :castle_bg::blank::blank::castle_bg::blank::blank::castle_bg::castle_wall:
    :castle_bg::blank::blank::castle_bg::blank::blank::castle_bg:
    :castle_wall::blank::blank::castle_wall::blank::blank::castle_wall:

    All of these work, but they have distinct advantages and disadvantages.

    1. Gets you up fast with less stone but provides little protection and it is harder to use than 2 and 3.
    2. Still gets you up fast, but uses slightly more stone than 1, you can still fall through but not as bad and you can start going up anywhere along the stairs.
    3. Most expensive steps, but offers great archer holes as you go, also very hard to squeeze through.

    A little tower in which I used maybe not exactly your way of supporting but I was inspired a lot. Cool stuff when the closest source of rock is far away.

    I like the number 3 high steps. It's a very clever idea.

    Also, I'm really surprised how many people use the smooth shade version of KAG. :p

    Thanks Wyeth, I'm on -9 GMT, so I imagine you couldn't wait 10 hours for me to get up . . . xD

    Anyway, thanks for the comments so far guys, I really find this kind of thing interesting. I originally got the "idea" from having to support something like this:

    [IMG] So I had to reinforce it, because I knew it wouldn't last: [IMG]

    So really, this was necessary on flat maps with TONS of trees in the middle. I'll get on my other computer and grab a screenshot of a forward tower I had built in a bit.

    EDIT: Found it:
    [IMG]
    As you can see, this tower has been through it. I built this tower as the forward rush tower, after I used all my resources, (120 wood/200 stone), I acquired a few more from attacking builders, then after I added the back wall, I went archer and stayed in the tower all game. Red put up a huge offense but the tower withstood it all.

    Sorry for the double post, but it may be interesting to note that:

    :castle_bg:
    :castle_wall:

    This repeated pattern on top of your tower, will stop most bomb jumpers in this build [354] because if a bomb jumper hits a wall they die, so making sure this is up above your tower will make sure they die. :)

    Recently, I've been "capping" all of my towers with the stone stairs(3) variation . . . Works extremely well, blocking incoming arrows, bombjumpers, and reduces catapult damage. If you do this though, be sure to leave a door before you start it, so your mates can still toss bombs, or archers get into the trees ,ect, ect.
