Applying vehicle mounting points to blocks and more

    Is there a way to apply the vehicle mounting points on boats, to blocks? And what about entity blocks? I'm not planning on modding anything in but I'd like to know because I'm spriting up a cannon that I'd like to be able to mount on a special block. I'd also like to know if there is a way to make special platform-like blocks that don't let players through but let any other object through like arrows, bombs, ballista-bolts, materials etc., from one direction.
