    Note:
This thread does not solve the problem, as I do not have DMZ enabled on my router.
This thread does not solve the problem because it is not an issue with certifications.

    Problem:
I can not log on to the KAG authentication server.

    Details:

I am running Windows 7, and can successfully ping both master.kag2d.com and api.kag2d.com.
I have been able to successfully log in in the past, up until a recent update.

    Solution:
    Reinstall operating system.

I would appear to be experiencing the same issue. I have reset my connection multiple times as well as the game, but it continues to say it could not connect.

I talked to a couple other people, and they're all getting this right now. It appears to be an issue with the master servers. There's probably nothing wrong on your end. Just wait it out.

Still having the same problem. I'll attribute it to KAG still being in beta. If anything changes then I'll post in here again.

There was a temporary API outage yesterday which caused login and server join failures for everyone.

Diago's issue is separate which is why he had it as early as Tuesday and still is.

Diago, do you know exactly wen you stopped being able to log in? Also do you have any software firewalls or "internet security software" running? If so, please disable all of it and try again just to rule them out as the cause [in case the recent update made them decide to block certain KAG traffic]

I can not remember when it first occurred precisely. My best guess would be approx 40 days ago.
With Windows Firewall and Avast 7.0.1426 disabled it still fails to authenticate.

Do you have any other computers in your house on the same connection? Can you test with them? It would help a lot to know whether this is a problem with your computer or your network

It seems to be local to my computer specifically. I installed KAG on a laptop that uses the same internet connection (albeit wireless), but there it logged on just fine. Both have Windows 7 and Avast (6.0.1367).
I tried uninstalling KAG on my PC, deleting its folder and reinstalling it from a freshly downloaded setup.exe but still get the same result.
(A pause and then the error message)

On the computer that isn't working, please post the output of ipconfig /all

I rebooted into Windows XP and ran KAG from there. It logged on without a hitch.
Temporarily uninstalling my Antivirus on Windows 7 didn't make a difference.

I'm almost out of suggestions since it looks like something (maybe something else installed on) about your Win7 environment that is causing this. I will let you know if I have any new ideas :(

I ended up reinstalling Windows 7, as one other program was having trouble connecting to online servers.
It would seem that KAG connects successfully now.

If I ever reproduce the error and know what caused it, then I will post here.

Thanks for the update - if you do find out what causes it (like if you install something and KAG stops working on the new win7 install), please update in this thread :)

troouser, what is the full error?

I doubt it's the same error because the error messages changed this week :)
