    I'm not really sure how a proper murder hole would be designed. I've never seen or used something that would amount to a murder hole. What I would want, is a murder hole on the inside of whatever fort/ tower so that when the enemy breaches, some archers may be able to shoot at them from over top without much risk to themselves from knights, or even other archers.

    A very good example of a murder hole would be:

    :castle_bg::door::castle_bg:
    :castle_wall::castle_bg::castle_wall:
    :castle_wall::castle_bg::castle_wall:
    :castle_wall::castle_bg::castle_wall:
    :door::castle_bg::door:
    :door::castle_bg::door:
    :castle_wall::castle_wall::castle_wall:
    Tower continues downward
    I use this for the front of most of my towers,

    and you can also add these anywhere you think is insecure, (archer perches for example):

    Experimentation is key! ;) I found "murder holes" on some of Wyeth's old structures back when I first started KAG here. Looking through the Complete Structure Compendium is always a good idea too.

    I remember a building someone designed from an older version of KAG.

    :D :bow: <-------Archer.
    :castle_wall::bridge::castle_wall::bridge::castle_wall:
    :castle_wall::castle_bg::castle_wall::castle_bg::castle_wall:
    :castle_wall::castle_bg::castle_wall::castle_bg::castle_wall:
    :door::castle_bg::door::castle_bg::door:
    :door::castle_bg::door::castle_bg::door:
    :castle_wall::castle_wall::castle_wall::castle_wall::castle_wall:

    The doors probably weren't on ground level [or it was a version before knights were capable of destroying doors], but the basic design is still the same, the key being to have a narrow chute through which archers can fire arrows at vulnerable knights.

    EDIT: Beaten to the punch by Killatron. To make my post slightly less redundant, you can also experiment with something like :

    :D :bow: <-------Archer.
    :castle_wall::bridge::castle_wall::bridge::castle_wall:
    :castle_wall::castle_bg::castle_wall::castle_bg::castle_wall:
    :castle_wall::castle_bg::castle_wall::castle_bg::castle_wall:
    :door::castle_bg::door::castle_bg::door:
    :door::castle_bg::door::castle_bg::door:
    :castle_wall::ladder_bg::ladder_bg::ladder_bg::castle_wall:
    :castle_wall::castle_bg::castle_bg::castle_bg::castle_wall:
    :castle_wall::spikes_bg: :spikes_bg::spikes_bg::castle_wall:

    The point being that a fully charged arrow will knock red knights to their spiky doom, with trapdoors placed if necessary to prevent team-mates falling to their death.
