    What you do is
    1. dig a tunnel to 75% across map
    2. get an outpost and throw it to the enemy at half way up into the earth at the midway point
    3. wait till they captured it
    4. finish tunneling
    5. capture flag
    6. run like a Mofo
    7. ????
    9. profit
    it works lol

I don't understand this? Are you saying that using an outpost to distract them allows you to complete your tunnel because they respawn at the middle rather then where your tunnel will end up?

that actually sounds like a pretty badass idea, only problems are:

1)holes in the ground, outpost could get stuck

2)your team up top might've already taken the area at which your outpost will end up, it wouldn't serve it's purpose of distracting the other team then.

    3) It may help the enemy on the surface.

  5. Would be a fun(ny) moment. I haven't seen any dirty-ish, distracting tactics used yet. Would he very funny to see it work. I can believe that the outpost will draw most enemy players like moth to a flame, just like gold does to a lot of new builders. They'll be all like "Stupid builder, gave us their own outpost," then realise later that they've lost.

Heck, I might even try this one day as a last resort :D

This has happened to me once, except they made their own outpost, i got in their base and only
had to kill about 2, got back and capped it. It really does help.

the whole concept is a very good and incredibly sneaky little idea, the only thing I don't like about it is the digging. :p

Outposts aren't really a game winning object anymore, considering how if it gets captured the original team still spawns at it.

    That's a bug, right? :p

I'm saying it could potentially help the enemy team (talking generally if the OP worked properly)

Of course it's a bug, just saiyan that you'll end up spawn at it even if it was captured, that'll probably hurt the enemy team more than anything.

    1. not that many hole in the map usually and i would suggest to use it on a server that allows one to use a map to check for those holes
    2. it would then either help your team or do nothing, besides you can just make another one

This would work better on a server without a minimap, instead of one where you could check for holes. Also, you can usually tell about major holes anyway. Still, sounds like an awesome cheese that isn't unfair. I wanna see someone do this on a gold server and get away with it.

maybe risky but if you add in a already lighted keg next to would get you more time

  15. Yeah, helped ya. Totally back fired. Sucks that if you cap an op, the enemy could still spawn in it. Devs need to fix that.

Unfortunately you might be overestimating the awareness of the average player there. On a bad day you can have an enemy 10 tiles away from tunneling into your base, have !!! popping up all over the place and have a couple of team members shrieking in mispelled desperation "TEHY'RE NUDER ORU BASSE1!!!" only to have people go on their merry way to complete the fundamental golden cross on their tower to provide a solid defensive linchpin your team desperately needs... even when the minimap has got so many holes in it looks like one of the shields from space invader after 5 rounds.

I feel that throwing 3 outposts would triple the chance of success.

On that note, all I can picture is an entire field of outposts just springing out of the ground, effectively confusing the shit out of everyone.

Then again, I'm probably missing the point completely. :D

Ok. Throwing them into the ground and making them glitch and slowly rise is not totally smart. There is a chance you are not playing with idiots who actually think "hey that outpost just came out of the ground i wonder how?" they realize that someone must be under there.

@TheFilip, the idea here is to reduce the number of defenders at the flag, by providing an outpost or if they are already using one, it leaves the flag open to tunnelers with small numbers of defenders likely 1 or 2 builders who happen to be minecrafting sort of players, with the brunt of the enemies forces spawning somewhere else.
