Their fault entirely. They need to stop whining, and get their head out of their ass. Their game looks bad because, they either did NOT design the game to the engines full potential, or they chose a poor engine to create their game on.

Alright, well I started this thread to show off something I thought was cool, not to have a big ragefest :<

Borderlands is not a bad game graphically, actually, I would go so far as to say it is one of the most graphically intense games on this generations consoles. Just because it looks cartoony, (which is what they were going for, mind you) does not mean it looks bad. And killing floor was a small indie game. They did not / do not have access to top engines. And as for them blaming their bad graphics on their software, I don't think any of these companies claimed that.

I'm not trying to start a rage-fest. I'm just sharing my opinion on items I think are interesting.

And let me state something on-topic so I don't derail the thread too much. That small water physics software is a pretty neat piece. Hopefully we see it in our games in the near future.

I also want to say that the new game released on the PC (From Dust) by Ubisoft, has one of the finest liquid engines in the entire industry. If you haven't checked the game out, do it now.

Sorry to burst the bubble here, but there's a huge reason why this wouldn't work in KAG, minecraft, or anything like that.

It isn't dynamic. It's a box. It wouldn't work in engine where the area is constantly changing.

For those of you who think that is a easy task to overcome, it isn't. It's a lot easier and faster to make this work in a box, as opposed to a slightly more irregular shape, like a lake bed.

There's another problem that presents itself because of that.
This may be impressive, and cheap on specs, but it doesn't allow flowing water, like rivers. (As far as I can tell.)

A good example of water physics that MIGHT work better is oecake. It doesn't look at shiny as this, but its water works perfectly fine with dynamic shapes.

That is really cool though, nice find.

I've seen the video but would rather test it myself.

You have to use Google Chrome, and it requires the newest version of Java.

    - has nothing to do with Java --> you don't need it to run the demo
    - it's using WebGL

    I thought it was javascript?
Pretty sure only a few browsers can use the full range of WebGL features. The latest chrome and firefox are all that handle it, I think. And even then, some versions of windows disable it.

And again: WebGL has nothing to do with Java (from Sun). You only need a browser like Fx5+ or Chrome which supports some WebGL stuff. You do NOT need any plugin for the browser to show this demo. Do not confuse Java with Javascript.

    I said this already >_>

Also, windows can prevent some aspects of WebGL as they require graphics acceleration and some windows setups lock that down. You have to mess with your config if this is the case.
