We won. Thanks to minecrafters <3

Theory: There are two kinds of minecrafters. Good and bad ones.
Good minecrafters know the game, and build useful structures and stop building when their castles are ready, but they're good only if they're few.
Bad minecrafters don't know the game and stay building their shiny base forever. And they're much worse if there's many of them.
And good minecrafters are needed for win. We won because we got them, right?

Nono, another theory: We won because we got soldiers and reds had almost only bad minecrafters. That sounds more correct. The thing about bad and good minecrafters is true though. Look at all those spammed catapults. Good minecrafters are for good. -So, you need the good minecrafters along soldiers.

What to do with bad minecrafters then? Learn them the game. Learn that if there is already another minecrafter, you're not allowed to go minecraft too. Yes.

    A bad minecrafter was here:

Reds obviously lost because they got too many minecrafters making their walls as thick as they could. Yeah and they got a guy spamming catapults everywhere. You need to be able to smash your own catas too.
We had good minecrafters - there were only four-six of them, and they did something useful.

You can post the moments of minecrafters here also. Yeah, and we should discuss how we could turn the minecrafters better in the game for better good.

Yes, but that meant the upper picture - there is a pit and there are no ladders

I don't really think good minecrafters are minecrafters at all. They're builders. Minecrafters are called this because of the way they won't stop building, not simply because they build. I've never had a problem with a builder building a fort, or building ladders for me, or anything. But the one thing that really grinds my gears is as you said, these minecrafters that will never stop building. They build right to the loss of their flag. If a knight is on their doorstep, they keep building, if the knight is tunneling through the wall and getting pretty far they still keep building. Not one ever switches to knight or had attempted to block drop. Even if the threat is eliminated they don't stop building, failing to see that an enemy has an outpost set up and its a matter of time before they will collapse their precious castle.

Either teach them to go to empty servers to build, or put in a mode where you simply have to defend against the other team in a castle and the other team can only attack and build ladders and catapults. They'd be helpful then, because they can actually rebuild the walls, and the massive fortification of stone might actually last long enough to win the game. If they got put on the attacking team, they'd be unable to build any fortifications anyway, and would be forced to do something useful.

Heh, I've always tended to call players minecrafters who keep builder as their class all the time, and go little to no front.
Had good laughs reading of what they do :D

About that gamemode you posted - infliration? - sounds really fun. I'm not sure if there is already a gamemode suggested for something like that -if not- go make a thread about it :)

It's already been suggested I think, but game-modes aren't priority at the moment :3

    Some pre-update minecrafting:

    Skull Fortress: boink

    Teddy Bear Fortress: boink

    Obnoxiously Large Fortress: boink

I love playing builder, but usually there are too many builders doing too much impractical stuff that I go to the front lines.

I like to think that what I do build when I get to build is pretty well done.

Some things I keep in mind when I build castles/outpost protection:
    1. Deployment - our side has to be able to get out fast.
    2. External Defense - keep them busy outside long enough to kill them and make repairs.
    3. Internal Defense - don't skimp on the castle background or a griefer gets an easy shot at you.
    4. Keep the Doors Safe - 90% of the castle intrusions I see (and make) are from one team member/corpse standing in the door and the other using that opportunity to get in or slash the doors in one hit. Just putting my doors 4 blocks high or putting several doors that are wide apart in an underground setting seems to buy a lot more time and be far more safe.
    5. Elevation - If you're in a valley consider a thick roof, if you're on a mountain consider a thick floor, if you're on flat ground then idk man, do whatever lol.
    6. Outpost Timing - Outposts win the game, so get rock before you start building an outpost, wait for the tide of the front line to go out a bit before you start building. Make sure the area is protected before you start building. Getting blown up when you have 60 gold sucks.
    7. Tunnels - Man I just like tunnel warfare more than sky bridges. Get off my back.

Anyway, see you in the game.

Could you post images in a image hosting website that doesn't force us to register and download stuff? Like tinypic/imageshack

dropbox is perfectly fine, Auri just linked it wrong. Auri go into your dropbox folder > public, right click the image > dropbox > copy public link.

How about we just go with Rainbows idea? Or even better still link the pictures as thumbnails? Not too difficult to use a non-register required website to share pictures with the community

They are when 7 of the 10 members of your team are too busy building a fancy castle, and your other two teammates are archers than run right into the knights.

Getting absolutely raped by the other team because you're 2 v 8 is not fun in the slightest.

French minecrafters much. The number of spike pits and number of builders on our team of 9 was excessive. I counted 6 builders at one point. That's double the sort of number you'd want.
