Shield Bashing Addict

I've seen some servers where surfing is banned, so eventually (unless its "removed") it will be in the same category as squeezing

 

At first I was always being shieldbashed and I was before a master of slashing so I found it frustrating, but then a guy named Darkman taught me how to shieldbash and now I always use it! I think its a great addition to the game!

 

It takes the skill out of knight combat.
Back in the day you could take on 5, not so skilled players, and come out alive.
Now you get 2 players on to you, one bashes you so you can't do anything, and the other jab spams you to death :(

 

Before shield bashing was re coded back into the game I missed it and could not wait for it to come back. Now that it is back (and op as heck) I wish they would scrap it. Knight combat was already messed up before this new shield bashing, now it is unbearable. The amount of utter bullshit that happens when fighting other knights is just ludicrous, I hope the devs fix this soon. Or scrap it, either way it just needs to go.

 

If I remember correctly, shieldbashing was okay long ago, before it was took off, and put back again.
You had to position yourself correctly to push the slasher away, if not miles away. It didn't fucking stun you endlessly like it does now. It was a technique to push away players, e.g. if an army of knights are coming your way and you're alone, you'd bash every one of them so they'd get separated and then you'd slash them down one by one, which DID require skill.

 

I don't think they should remove shield bashing, but at least fix that surfing sh!t.

I just got pushed 10 tiles and squished against the wall by somebody "shield bashing." It's broken. Fix it.

I'm fine either way, there's a way to neutralize shield bash entirely.

I did like the skill needed to play knight before though.

 

Whats so fun about OP bashing people? No skill, hardly any practice required.. I think it's a boring and cheap tactic, not fun.

 

However, a lot of people slash (including noobs ) so the way to counter (for me ;)) is to shield bash :D

 

changes do need to be made, but body surfing wont last forever. I will enjoy it while it lasts.

 

Before those shitty adds (I am speaking only about knight combat and not about water,...), knight's combats were very fluid without bugs or position glitches. Bash was not a coded function but a marvelous trick that we could learn easily. I will never forgive furious battles in rapid death matches' servers where we learnt a lot about knight's tactics. It was a question of good timing and not hazardous movements and bugs. Shield bash was a counter to doble slash even if it was a fabulous uncoded trick born from hundreds of code's lines. Shield bash mustn't be a function because now there are a lot abuses. So if game makers hear me. Please put a link to download the version 190 just to play as knight even if kag become a good game with others adds.​

shield bashing is op on a non- lan server, with 0 ping you cannot shield-bash bots at all.
why is it that 1 of 3 4 things happens to me everytime i get shieldbashed
1. i get surfed
2. i fly off
3. i fly off only to appear right next to my shield-basher and then jabbed to death
4. i fall to my death from being nicked by a shieldbasher

 

Actually, you can shield bash bots. I've done it quite a lot, really. They're just not prone to it that much cause they constantly have a shield up, obviously, they're frickin bots! But when you get to catch them while they AREN'T shielding, they get perma stunned like everyone else.

 

Yeah, it's got nothing to do with ping.. I run a home server where I would obviously have 0 ping and bashing is exactly the same for me.
It's just the way bots work like Symphony said. :)

 

Shield bashing is a nice addition to knight combat. It reduces some of the advantage of numbers and adds hilarity. It just needs to be balanced properly.
