Hi, I made a game called Fragmented Platformer for my AP Comp Sci Final Project. It's anOTHER GAME so I thought It might be cool if I post it here:
    It includes...
    1 difficult level
a level editor where you can save your own levels
You can play with 4 people on 1 computer :p

Here's a link to the site.
Maybe if I have time I can make a gameplay video.

EDIT: just realized the link goes to my old webpage. lol no wonder some people couldnt see it. :\

FYI, Java's actually no less valid for general game development than anything else out there. If anything, it's far less fiddly for a small project than C. ;)

    Quit trolling, please.

Java is absolutely fine for a beginner. Its also ideal for things such as android app development.

Actually GameMaker has some games that are more evolved then usual games from Pro programmers..
    But Anyways ,
Really seemed cool to me. I bet if you continue in this gaming path , You'll get pretty far in programming , Xslayer

Back on topic, you should consider posting a direct download link, it's kinda annoying having to login to take a look at it.

Everyone, ignore Hatsumei. He's a fine upstanding gent.

Not bad, Xlayer. Java is just as valid as anything else.

  11. Java is used in AP Computer classes throughout the year and during the Final. Even if he thought that Java was terrible for game creation he would still have to use it for the class.

    So...who gives a fuck.

Sent a request to access, and the picture broke so can't say anything about the actual game as of yet. :C

wtf i didn't get updates for new posts! :C

I don't like Java, like, at all. I made this game in Game Maker 8. Even though Game Maker is used by a lot of beginners, it's really a great program that can do some neat stuff. Recently I have moved onto using Pygame, and eventually I guess I will use C++. Honestly I am afraid of C++. I can't even import headers and carp correctly.

I hope people will still reply to this thread even though its pretty old. Why didnt i get updates?! >:(

IIRC, this is how you import:

    #import header.h
    //heh

You didn't get any updates because people honestly, unfortunately, do not care about your progress as a game dev. These people are selfish and only want an end product. But, Xlayer, I have to let you know... I care.

Making the move from stuff like Pygame to C++ is a tricky one, but it's still relatively easy. :)
There's just so much stuff to know that isn't even, like, PROGRAMMING! xD

Exactly why I haven't switched. When I download Portable Python I can get straight to programming and I don't have to worry about setting up headers, torturing myself with cmake, or managing memory. Especially since this is just a hobby so far.

Wow that's really amazing!!! Here's a complete review for your first game:

    Taureactor's review on Fragmented Platformer!

Graphic: If fitted with the music however it could have been better, but I really liked the fragmented effect!: 4/5
Gameplay: The concept is really good I like the mid air jump, but there was some bugs that made me go slower, but there is a multiplayer mode with hats!: 4/5
Duration: I don't know I got killed twice after the GO by the little red thingy XD, so I'll not count it
Sound: The music fitted the gameplay and the graphic and the loop wasn't that bad: 3.5/5
Epicness: Running with fragmented blocks behind you and falling meteorites that destroy blocks, EPIC!: 4/5

    So in total: 15.5 = 75.5%

Overall: This game has a lot of potential and I am heated for the sequel!

omg thanks! :D I love getting feedback! I am currently working on a new game using either SFML/C++ or Pygame, so I can upload it to a site like IndieDB or something. It will have a plot :rekt:

    very good, even:
