Hello, i'm fairly new to this game and really want to survive the zombie hordes with my friends who have also bought the game... I cannot seem to find a guide anywhere though that teaches me how to create a LAN, or if i must a deticated server that my friends can join. Thanks a ton for any help :)

i have already seen this but for the windows installation it brings me to the KAG website, which only has a linux server installation... will that work for windows as well?

Just use the windows version, not the server.

Please read the wiki about configuring your server. You will only have to configure your dedicated_autostart.gm and dedicated_autoconfig.gm to get a working Zombie Fortress server.
Change the files when your server is not running.
