    clearly something like a rubber band tied between there ears, traditional Inuit game to test pain tolerance.

    I got nothing. But going off everyone else, I'd suggest it's ear-pulling and they're doing it to demonstrate mental fortitude, show off their high pain thresholds, and win prizes and hookers and stuff. ::P:

    Reverse image search shows its Ear-pull, probably done to show the high pain endurance of the competitors

    What are they doing: they are doing a traditional Inuit game called ear pull, it tests the competitors ability to endure pain

    Why do they do it: to find who can endure most pain and... to win...?

    Well looks like @Galabranth happened to win this time, PMing code later. Guess having more chances to win, does give you an advantage this time around.

    So next question, in most cases, what is the easiest ways to create a random number generation for a computer and what is usually used as the seed? I'll also give you a times 2 the number of "tickets" if you can correctly guess what number I generated between 1-20

    Since kag is c++ use rand, its not good, but its the standard.
    ...
    random_number rand()%20;
    cout<<random_number;
    ...

    Well it depends on language but there is the rand() function in most c based languages. The seed is usually system time (counting from 1970 I think) . The number was 12.

    Well, I don't know about the easiest way to create a RNG, but I know a way for it to get a true random number in the range 1-20. It just has to scan a dartboard for my throw.
    [IMG]
    Dartboard says 12. Let's go with 12 for the random number.
