Some noobs or just really dumb players fail to understand that stone is very limited in some CTF maps.
When a builder is trying desperately to repair walls and keep the enemy at bay they keep complaining about the use of wood instead of stone.
So, just to be clear, a builder works with what he has, and you only get 30 stone on respawn so... please just shut up.

Also it's really easy to fireproof wooden structures, here's how:
-NEVER use wooden back wall, just pretend it doesnt exist. With the 30 stone you get on respawn you can place 15 stone backwall tiles, which should be enough.
-Place a stone block every 2 or 3 wooden blocks to limit fire spread.
-Make a tower that is easy to repair, build in layers instead of making a monolith. This also helps to withstand explosives.

Wood is useful for thick buildings, ie outside stone layer, then 3 layers of wood and then another stone layer.

It's most effective when the enemy uses it though, because then you can burn their buildings.

It is very viable to use wooden back wall that is fireproof.
    If you use this setup:
[Just pretend the dirt is wood]

It is impossible to burn it, since there is no platform for the arrows's fire to spread from. It will just be stuck on the edges with the stone. Just a rarely used tip that I would like to share.

Other than that, fine thread. It is so fucking irritating when people are yelling at me, "DON'T USE WOOD YOU FUCKING NOOB!"

Yea i mean wood is helpfull for temporary defenses but it should be substituted eventually

Side note: Builders stop fucking using drills to mine stone, it wastes stone heavily and when you need it there wont be any.

Here's what wood is good for. Build the bottom out of wood. Voila, impenetrable base. Bonus points for being extra tall and thin, with every workshop at the top.

I just use a whipple shield of directional platforms.
[People can't run up plats, btw, and I think they last longer than wooden blocks. Other than that, the plats can have a back wall, so they are harder to completely take down.]

Two dedicated trees are enough to make everyone hate you with infinite dinghies, and sawmills.
[I'm glad you can't convert the saw mills, or grab them when they aren't of the same team; this makes them more of a hassle for the enemy.]

If you make an ant lion, make sure you have a two-block fall before the top of the saw mill.
If it is any less, then knights can break them.
Disregard your team's opinion on them, they are dumb, always fill in the gaps with directional plats because it disallows the enemy an easy sap.

Remember, fire spreads, so building on what they are building with wood = good idea.
[This is called Inverse Back-Firing; in which, instead of preemptively burning things, you preemptively make everything into a fire hazard.]

I can remeber when this one guy on my team built this massive tower out of wood.
Everyone was like NOOOOOB don't use wood. But he layered the out side with stone. The tower lasted for the whole map.

It USED to be useful for teamkilling killing stupid noobs on the other team but the devs removed it :<

You simply aren't trying hard enough, just make sure the target is firmly underneath the falling structure.
    For everything else, Saw Mills.
