I don't understand why shops in CTF are still neutral like factories in TTH. It makes my brain hurt. If I want to get a keg or mines over the wall then make me bomb jump over with one. Increase the risk by a factor of 10. Don't give me a freebie with neutral shops. It should not be the fault of the entirety of the other team when I blow up their base because they forgot to put their nuclear core—the dreaded knight shop—in a password protected vault of unobtainium. With the skill disparities that currently exist, knight shops are often a hazard for their own team as long as they're neutral. Arguably, it's nearly as important to be dedicated to protecting knight shops as the flags themselves. Anyone feel this is an exaggeration? Would it take anything away from the game if this were changed?

Make their color coded appearance actually mean something. :huh?:

I agree entirely, it is bad enough things such as grapples and bomb jumps make the entire map dangerous(mainly to builders), but being punished for supplying shops to my team without wasting stone on a roof and doors to everything is kinda annoying. Also shops practically instagib, so no matter what you lose something to your enemies.

Yeah I've always thought they shouldn't aid the other team myself. I see this as needing to be changed. Same for archer shops and builder shops and all the shops.

Please no. One of my main strategies is bomb jumping into an enemies base to buy a keg from their knight shop. It is key to the strategy since you can't double bomb jump while holding a keg. Knight shops have always been neutral, ever since the early days in classic. Why change something that has been such a huge part of KAG history. Its important to the current gameplay of KAG and is important to me and all of the other extremely skilled players in KAG :B):

    >because it takes skill to save some coins for buying a keg inside an enemy's base

Edit: Alternative! You can still buy shit from the other team's shops, it just costs way more! Like maybe 200 coins for a keg instead of 120. Eh? Eh?

stop bases from selling devastating attacks to the enemies inside the base
    OR
get off your ass and bomb jump with a keg, lazy bones

I'm of a mind with Arcrave on this one. If you protect your knight shop with stone and stone doors, then we have to use bombs to get in, which in turn would destroy the shop. If you simply do that, then you don't have to worry about us people who buy stuff at your shop because we can't get to it.

Even with walls built around there are various ways that players can still get in. Wooden doors, killing enemies in doors, setting bombs off above different shops(if all shops are in the same building), wooden walls, and stuff like that. Also those resources could be being used on other parts of the base instead of just to build a roof to prevent a handful of players from getting your stuff...when they might still get your stuff anyway.

I still think the alternative of just making things purchased from enemy shops more expensive would be the best solution. Yeah, we could stonewall around -every- knight shop, but honestly that wastes stone that could be used in other places. Also the fact that shops and etc are colored blue/red implies they are "team shops", but currently (and always from build 1) they service both teams, so they should just be colored white to indicate neutrality.

I agree with Arcrave and Auburn; build your bases better and/or don't let the enemy Knight get to your shops in the first place.

They are colored so we know which team can't destroy them...
also, it isn't too much stone to take a precaution that stops a few people from opening the flood gates and let their entire team get to your flag.

Yea, i always build the knight shop in the safest part of my base, if it were a actual armory or something in a castle nothing would stop a intruder from stealing.

    Tldr; qq more babies

I agree it should be limited to team only.

These kind of "strategies" that can be carried over by a single person should be removed or made less useful (tunneling, bombjumping)

Imagine what would happen if everybody learned to bombjump: The game would be ruined, people would barely build anything, only a couple of sky-high towers in every match...

Builder shops, I've found, are even deadlier in some cases. Bombjump over enemy base, land in base, everything is stonewalled... WHAT DO? Go change class to builder in their builder shop, wall off all their doors, and if you're still alive, wall around yourself then dig into the flag. If I attempt this strategy, I usually bring about a tree's worth of wood with me when I jump over so I can apply this strategy immediately.

Well the only thing I could agree with about this is that it would finally solve one huge annoyance, retard knights that break the shops instead of farming+buying right there. You are looking at this problem in a 'current meta' way, which is a huge problem, we've seen what happens when retards decide there should be a certain way to play KAG, those leagues/tourneys were all shit to watch. :|

If you see a problem, build around it. If there is truly no way to build around it, work around it, and play AROUND it, and it is heavily exploitable THEN it becomes something worthy of changing via dev intervention, but not before. So if you believe it is that big of a problem I suggest you do the following 2 things:
1)Abuse it as much as possible, put yourself in the bad guy chair and find out what drives it, is it fun gameplay, is it stale, what bases make this easier, which do you have trouble with?
2)Build against it. What works the best? Can you build a base that is great against this while not sacrificing in other areas? How hard is it to do? Should it be considered mandatory? At what point?

When you've done that and have gotten it down to better points and can point out specifics, you can either:
a)make a guide on how to work around it if it bothers you so much, so you don't have to worry about it
b)Point out why it's so broken/op and needs to be changed and have someone care

e:Sorry if this made it seem like I thought you were whiny, quite the contrary, but I believe you've played more than enough where you'd be willing to/are smart enough to do this and actually get to the bottom of something you care about.
