Litheona is a place so familiar yet different to our own. Its landscape, so wonderfully diverse, is called home by many different species that can never be found in our world. Maybe it was his thirst of knowledge, or perhaps it was only petty jealously that drove the King of the humans, Aldan Everrield II, away from magic and towards the arms of science. As a human, he was unable to use magic, an ability that virtually every sentient race had. The only exception to this are half-breeds, the results of unions between humans and magical beings. Envious at their powers, King Aldan II shunned and executed them, labelling their human parents 'blood traitors'.

King Aldan II was no longer content with knowing that certain things happened; he wanted to know how and why things did. Seasons, tides and other seemingly supernatural phenomenons were explained by scientists and basic machines to help with usually magically assisted tasks were built with the knowledge. With no more half-breed findings, his empire entered a period of enlightenment. However, the King wanted more. Eventually research and development was directed away from menial and domestic issues and towards warfare. His scientists learnt how to weaponise everything. Carts became very simple tanks when someone thought of re-enforcing the wooden surface with metal. Ale was modified into bombs when the alcohol in it was separated, concentrated and poured into glass containers with a simple wick. When a certain black powder was found to have explosive results, they went crazy with making things go boom. Their technology was always closely guarded, and this was no exception. Then someone had the bright idea to mess around with viruses.

Scientist Jacar Nibeorn was the one who first suggested it. Responsible for many breakthroughs and trusted by the King himself, he was given the go-ahead by his superiors. Much to the confusion of his co-workers, he worked on it alone and in the middle of the night, when most other scientists had gone home. If anyone other scientist had attempted research on such a topic, they would've ultimately failed. Technology was not yet advanced enough to genetically engineer viruses and diseases. However, Jacar was not a normal human. Unknown to his King, Jacar was part Elvish, a half-breed. Using his powers, he unintentionally unleashed something that was not meant for his world.

Now named Everriend's Plague, the virus spread, killing its victims and turning the corpses into mindless beasts. The other races, needing something to blame for the disaster, turned humans into scapegoats. For the most part, they were only shunned, though some of the extremists took to hunting them down. With the land in chaos, heroes are needed more than ever. Are you ready to step up to the task?

As Jessica Mauboy put it, come on and fill me up, fill me up!
    Name:
    Gender:
    Race:
    Age:
    Appearance (pic or description):
    Personality:
    History:
    Other (optional):

    Characters:
    Name: Crow Acarwig
    Gender: Male
    Race: Orc
    Age: 23
Appearance: Like most Orcs, Crow is heavily built and quite large. Also like most Orcs, most of his mass is muscle. His skin, a murky green, is marred by the scars of countless mishaps and training accidents. Stormy grey eyes are set beneath his thick eyebrows. His shoulder length hair, usually worn in a loose ponytail, is a deep black and the reason why his parents named him Crow. He usually wears a plain tunic, leather slacks and boots; in his opinion, armour is for wusses.
Personality: Easily offended and aggravated, he is very protective about those he cares about and what he believes in. He isn't slow on the uptake, though his education sometimes makes it seem like he is. He is somewhat prideful.
History: What do you do when you've lost everything? Crow grew up in a small village near the mountains. His father taught him and his siblings how to fight. They're all gone now, though. They were all destroyed by the plague and the madness that came with it. With only his two handed sword and the clothes on his back, he aimlessly wandered out into the countryside.
    Name: Rollan Senz
    Gender: Male
    Age: 36
    Race: Elf/Human
Appearance: Due to his Elvern blood Rollan has aged well as his appearance resembled that of a 20 year old human, his hair is blond. sleek and long enough to touch the back of his neck he generally has his hair combed back to avoid his fringe getting in the way. His face weathered by many years of travel and dark circles under his eyes. His arms and hands are almost entirely tattooed in strange markings composed entirely of lines, shapes and various letters; the same patterns exist on the leather amour which adorned his body, it is amour of high quality by the standards of man and covered by the runes and magic of the elves which the humans hate so much. Despite the amour being something which should be shown off it is hidden by a long brown cloak which snugly wraps around him and the amour.
Personality: Rollan is generally a calm and collected person with a reluctance for combat unless it is absolutely necessary. His curiosity can somewhat get the better of him leaving himself in unfavorable situations.
History: His mother a elf and father a human Rollan had a interesting childhood torn between two societies the elves a race of secluded magic users and the humans the tyrannical technology lovers of the world. As he grew up he spent equal amounts of time learning about the magic of the elves and the weaponry of the human world, in time he learnt how to mix the two together using materials such as ink and chalk imbued with magic on human amour and weapons to create spells and such without the casting time of a normal spell. One day the humans found out about Rollan and his heritage so the king ordered soldiers to his fathers house. Before Rollan could do anything about it his father was dispatched and his mother was also caught inside the walls on human land and later executed. After this Rollan left both the human and elvern in search for knowledge after blaming himself for the deaths of his parents and his inability to protect them so he left for a adventure into the world. After many years past Rollan heard talk about a 'plauge' in his home town, 'It's about time I paid a visit home anyway' Rollan thought has he begun the long journey home.

    Personality:

What was once a life full of content and bliss, is now marred with pain and suffering. There is barely a spark of happiness in Gwyn anymore. If anything, now he is but a depressed soul looking for answers.
    History:
Long ago the Gigas were nomads leading simple lives from place to place, for they had no home. They were always shunned by other races for this reason, until one day, everything changed. A young Gigas by the name of Ram, had a vision of his people, building a city a top of a mountain, with the glorious sun high above. Ram led the Gigas to the Valley of Erisi. The journey took around a year to complete, as it was half a world away. Eventually, Ram's vision came true and in time, long after his own death, the Gigas began to worship the Sun God, Ram. The Mountain that they now called home, was Eden. It had everything they could ever need and the Gigas flourished.
The journey was not without hardships, pain and suffering but it bettered the Gigas in time. As the Gigas were now isolated from any contact with other races, they become more independent, and thus developed different magic, art, literature, and metal working. Truly, it was not because they were completely isolated, it was just the fact that Eden was a very tall mountain, and the valley was almost completely covered in thick vegetation. There was only a few paths that they traversed down into valley, and they were seldom used. Those paths, however, would be their downfall. Being isolated for so long had it's downsides, as now their immune systems weren't as they were before the last migration, and the Plague was coming.

Gwyn was born into house Elessar and at a young age he was scripted into the Sun Guard, the Gigas civil protection(As they had no need for a military). His father always told him to never bring shame to the family, but Gwyn usually did the complete opposite. He was talented with both magic and a blade, but he lacked the will to use them both proficiently and because of that his relationship with his father was strained. He was a rebellious teen who constantly shrugged of on his responsibilities, usually missing training to flirt with girls. It wasn't until he was 23 that he finally graduated and became a fully fledged Sun guard, something unheard of at his age(Other members of the guard usually graduated at 18). The reason for his final completion of training, was simply due to marriage. As Gigas had to complete whatever proficiency that they were in, to wed another. His significant other happened to be a girl called, Evelyn and she was a baker.
They married when Gwyn was 24 and had a lovely life, with twin girls on the way at age 28. When they were born, a celebration was held, as twin births were very rare in Gigas society. They were named, Etzil and Azal. By the time they were 4, Gwyn was 32 and evil was coming.
It started in the morning, he was at the gates to the city, to which he didn't really no why as no one came to them, but regardless, there he was sword at his side and shield ready. It came then, a creature he had never seen before. It made unintelligible grunts and his fellow guardsmen pointed out that it looked like it was in pain. They opened the gates to help the creature, their first and last mistake. Or perhaps their first mistake was not wearing any armor, as it wasn't really needed anymore. They had open arms, the creature had only teeth. It bit a guard and he fell in pain as it ripped him open. There was then a panic as the guardsmen grabbed another's leg and bit down. Gwyn drew his sword and attacked the first creature, by ramming into it then cutting it's head off and it seemed to do the trick, as it fell to the ground, its dark blood oozing out. When he turned around, as ramming the creature had shoved it father down the road a little bit, he saw the one guard who had been disemboweled eating another and the one he bit, was shuffling into the city and then the screams started. Before he could run to help, another creature, previously unseen, appeared and attacked him, by hitting him in the head! He was knocked out instantly but as the creature tried to bite him, his sword impaled it in the head, killing it also. His body then lay lifeless under a dead corpse.
When he awoke, the sun was setting and the corpse lay atop him still. He shoved it off, now caked in dried black blood and got his bearings, looking around he saw nothing but dried bloodstains and the other dead body. He walked into the city, head throbbing still and saw complete chaos. Buildings were on fire, bodies lay on the ground and his only thought was his family, which he now rushed to, mindless of the danger around him. When he finally did reach his home, the door was open and upon stepping inside his family room, he saw only blood and broken furniture. Walking slowly, with a heavy heart at what he might find, what he hoped he wouldn't find, he walked back into his children's room. There, on the floor was his wife, being eaten by his children. His poor babies, without a thought of who he was, looked up at him with glazed over eyes and charged. He quickly shut the door and slumped down in front of it, in shock then, he wept for what he saw. The image would never leave him. He quickly realized that they wouldn't be able to open the door, so he slowly got up, went into his room and put on his armor. After awhile, he sat on the bed and swore he would get to the bottom of this, as things like this don't just happen, they are made. Anger swelled in him then as he left his house, never to return. He made sure to smite every undead that he saw, he was barely able to do it and apart of him seemed to die each time the foul deed was done. He tried to find survivors but quickly realized they would have gotten out or died.
He finally made his way to the gate and shut it, he then jumped off the low wall and landed on the ground. No one would now be able to enter or leave Eden. How Ironic he thought, as he turned his back and left, down the path.
    Optional:
Unlike most species, the process of becoming undead varies, but due to their isolation from other species, and thus other diseases and plagues, they are incredibly weak to it. A bite will turn them instantly and contaminated food and water, mere hours. They also don't know much about the outside world but what they do know is the common language, as it really never left or changed much at all.
    Name: Tyshia Adriddae
    Gender: Female
    Race: Human
    Age: 25
Appearance: She is a short girl with long black hair. Her cloth range from the extravagant dresses of the imperial court, to the simpler attire of the soldiery.
Personality: Arrogant in view of the superiority of humankind, she feels it is humankind's destiny to control the world's elements and bend it to their will using nothing but steel and blood. She despises non-human races for their magic abilities, and their apparent blame on the humans for the plague. However, she takes a keen interest in the plight of her fellow humans, and places her hopes in the technology that humans might one day create to relieve their suffering.
History: Tyshia was raised in a time of turmoil among the Empire of Alden II. Among the empire, the xenophobic attitude towards other races pervaded the human citizens and she was not in the least unaffected by it. Her human heritage taught her to strive for betterment of herself and the human race. Raised in a noble family, she set for greatness among the races, neigh, even the humans of the world. After the devastation of the empire from the great plagues females were obligated to support the burgeoning human population in areas of defense. Her father, an officer in an Imperial detachment instructed to remove non-human entities within the empire, began training her in view of this development. As she grew older, she found herself in a position of a herald to her father's detachment, sending messages as a courier between important people. This position was expanded to route messages through dangerous territory of plague afflicted victims, often skirting past hostile non-human creatures in an effort to pass important information onwards. By being taught the proper values of the Empire, Tyshia found she had a great responsibility in the face of numerous threats posed ready to rid the Empire, and humans, from the world.
    Name: Johannes Bailey
    Gender: Male
    Race:Human/distantly elf.
    Age: 28
Appearance: A fairly tall man with Ruffled Caramel brown hair and rings under his eyes.
He is often seen wearing a white, stained, knee length overcoat.
Personality: Often distracted and not quite in the moment Johannes is intelligent but often
seems stupid and dim-witted to strangers.
History: Raised in an outpost on the border of the human empire he was often striving to find what he needed for his experiments. He once painstakingly created a small cannon with a small log, some string and a clay dish.
As soon as he was able he set out to the capital. Though now he has mainly changed from explosives and weaponry to a basic form of chemistry. He was on the opposite side of town when the plague broke out so he had plenty of time to escape. He had fled out to the nearest military base on a trinus (a sort of steam train) with other essential personnel including the king and his most important courtiers. When he arrived at the base he was relieved that he was alive but also disappointed that there was another amazing lack of scientific supplies. However with the help of some local amateur scientists from the garrison he was able to set up a laboratory complete with enclosed fireplaces sliding cabinet tables and a strongroom. Here he now tries to think of a way to defeat the virus as well as a few weaponry experiments to defend the fort.

History: 4 years after Pinxviin was born, his home village was attacked. He ran and hid in the nearest forest untill his grandfather found him. In that day he lost his parents, so his grandfather took a good care of him. While his grandfather was an old dragon slayer, he started teaching Pinxviin to fight well.
Years went and at age 14 Pinxviin became an excellent fighter who could wield any kind of weapon very well. At that age, he also found his first love, an elf called Linda, who was a druid. He spent time with his girlfriend as much as possible when there was no training or quests to do. At age 25 Pinxviin finally married her and had a daughter. Sadly, Pinxviin couldn't spend much time with his family...
It was another rainy night when the town alerted that they were attacked by an orc army. Pinxviin quickly grabbed his sword and told his wife to escape with the local people through the mines and call help if possible. Running outside he attacked the nearest enemy he could see. While fighting, he killed lots of orcs but saw that some corpses didn't stay still. He saw a corpse standing back up and charging at him. Pinxviin sliced its' head off and was terrified by this sudden surprise. Still continuing the fighting, it almost seemed as they were winning but suddenly, Pinxviin was hit by an arrow. It was very painful and Pinxviin fell unconscious after such long fight.
Waking up in the morning he was surprised to be alive and took out the arrow. Looking around he found a bandage and some supplies which were not stolen or taken. The town was burnt, there were bodies everywhere what were yet not infected. Pinxviin then left his home behind and went to look for his family. As much as he searched, he could not found his beloved daughter and wife. He decided to go on an adventure and it seemed to be a good plan. He found a mighty sword which was told to be crafted by both devils and angels. Finding and lootin many other treasures, Pinxviin built a wooden house on his own onto a hill near a beatiful nature, mountains, forest, river and a town. Slaying dragons, giants, or any other monsters made him a hero to many people. But after hearing about some sort of Plague, he thought that was it the same thing he met 20 years ago? He didn't know, so he went home and slept till the sun rised outside again.

    Yes, I'd like to start.

A general discussion thread would also be a good idea too. I have a few questions about the lore, like how advance are the technology levels? Obviously its medieval, but apparently humans are suppose to be more advanced. How advanced are they? Are we going to go as far as some sort of ww1 industrialized tech since I see you wrote about primitive tanks and bombs?

    ((Thanks Zee))
He had been walking for at least two days now and his feet ached for being used for so long without any rest. The grassy field, darkened by night, seemed to continue on forever, as if the whole continent was completely devoid of any other kind of life. Crow had no idea where he was. When he first left the remains of his village, all he knew is that he had to get away. All he had was blind luck on his side; he was never taught geography. Eventually, the sun begun to rise and its light dyed the sky a rosy pink. He saw a distant town on the horizon and he hurried, visions of food and rest filling his head.

(( I edited my character, added appearance as a spoiler and ''upgraded'' the history :P ))
Pinxviin woke up in his house and looked outside, the sun begun to rise. Putting on his clothes and armor, he ate a little, took his sword and axe and started walking to the nearest town. He usually goes there in the morning looking for some people in need of help or checked out the library or went to the bar. Today, however, he wanted to buy some supplies and take a look at the mountains which were near his home. Walking along the river he was nearing to the town.

Gwyn walked seemingly no where and for how long, he did not know. It was a couple days at least. He was oblivious to everything around him as he sulked, to deep in thought to realize anything going on. The emotional toll of loosing ones family and perhaps species, can break even the strongest beings, down to the shells of their former self. This had not happened to Gwyn, not yet anyways. His thoughts were elsewhere, as he tried not to remind himself of what he lost, but to the future and his questions that needed answers. Who was responsible? Where did it come from? Most importantly, what was being done to stop it?
He stopped then and looked around. He was in a clearing, the sun was high above, the birds, chirping. The sounds of life were all around him but it was so bittersweet. He grew angry then, that he was scarred and that everything else wasn't. In a fit of madness, a long bolt of lighting, at least 7 feet in length, emerged from his hand and he flung it at a tree. The impact sent sparks flying in the air. The tree, now black where the bolt hit, faltered and then with a crash, it fell over, wherein a fire started.
Gwyn then looked up at the sun, and cursed it for not helping them, Ram's chosen people were now practically all dead. He threw a lighting bolt up at the sun, where it then exploded, never reaching its target. The explosion was red and could be clearly seen for miles around. Gwyn then slumped onto his knees and wept once more, the fire, now engulfing another tree would seen cause a forest fire, the smoke would be a clear sign and maybe just maybe it would bring someone. Someone with answers.

Rollan steadily approached the capital knowing that once past it he was a day of two worth of travel to reach his home town. He noticed as approached the large threatening walls of the capital that it was dead silent, Rollan being aware of the situation in the country decided that this point it may not be the smartest idea to go alone into a previously largely populated area. Carefully moving the strap of his bag further up his shoulder Rollan decides it is the best to walk around the walls and move fast to ensure not to attract any unwanted attention.

    Too late?

Lookie here. When I was writing it... I had just stopped playing Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
With bombs I was thinking of something like molotov cocktails, nothing to complex. (I should make it clearer >.<)
