    Playing on Boldtemple roleplay earlier, when I noticed in chat, apparently my username spamming vulgar, and extremely insensitive insults towards people. :oops:

    How is someone doing this? Is it a cheap trick? I'd never consider using cancer as a tool to hurt someone. It's beyond disgusting. I've been personally affected by cancer, and I don't understand why someone would be twisted enough to wish it onto others.

    IIRC, there is a way to change your name on classic using a hack, just call for a guard on IRC next time it happens.
    You can still see everyone's real names using the /players command

    Thanks you kindly. None of the admins on the server believe it's even conceivable to impersonate, thus I've no motive to bother pursuing whoever is doing this, as without their trust they'll disregard everything I bother to tell them either way.

    I've become hated, and I absolutely do not deserve it. I guess I shouldn't care as much as I do, but I felt I had actual friendships with those individuals who now label me as a liar, and as a generally disgusting person.

    I don't know what to do right now.

    If you can pin down the guy's username we can flag him as an impersonator, fwiw, via the reports subforum (usual rules apply, need video evidence of the guy), but issues like this in classic won't be patched, I'm afraid.

    Some guys on the internet are just massive jerks; nothing we can do to change that but if you can find out who it is we can at least give him a more difficult time being a jerk.

    It is just bug, dont be scared. They use it like:
    i write smth like : i am boss <and here i write some letters wich cant be seen in kag chat>*and then yuo write) <tag Happiness> random messages.

    On your screen it is possible to see who did that - Hermani

    I was really confused, and frustrated that the admins believed me to be a jerk, and when I genuinely tried to explain myself, called me utter liar. :oops:

    @Happiness This has nothing to do with what we were discussing :/ We were talking about an admin on our server and you relate to this bug/hack/don't really care :/.

    Also I checked all the game files we have and nothing will change your username :/. We don't code things like that.

    Also I have concluded the investigation on the admin.

    You realize that what's being discussed here is a bug in the game that have nothing to do with whatever server configurations/moderators you have in place right? Please do not spam unrelated threads with server discussion.

    Anyway locking this since OP already got his/her answer, if anyone have anything to add to this, PM me.
